The last time I weighed myself, my BMI (Body Mass Index) was 21.6 and my Tanita scale said my percentage of body fat was 18. What is your BMI and percentage of body fat?

This web page can calculate your BMI:

I currently have BMI = 18.5. Body fat looks like 6% (at least my scale gave me this, in which I do not believe)...

Sigh... BMI = 32.3

Body Fat % = 34.8%.

Freaking skinny people... :p

The only plus to this is that not a lot of my fat is abdominal fat, so it's not the "bad" kind, but still, there's just way too much of it. I'm REALLY sick of having bat wings on my upper arms, and "back boobs." The hip and thigh fat, those are fine, they can stay. But I still have so much to lose, so far to go, that it really does seem completely impossible sometimes. Am I EVER going to have a decent figure? I'm tired of being a hulking mass that's not the least bit feminine.

Read my latest post "Melt fat away" cheetaking. If it were facebook you'd click like.

Technically speaking cheetaking we both posses the same bodytype. That is we are endomorphic.

We store fat better than we can burn it off. My latest post explains the reasoning behind this.

The plus side however of the endomorphic body type is we can generate better muscles at the fraction of the time needed by say the ectomorph who remains skinny no matter what.

Ectomorphs eat like tanks and I reason it's cause they possess more brown fat than the avg joe.

NB = Ectomorphs are lucky bastards genetic wise.

My thighs are very very muscular and its been a problem trying to fit my 28x30 waistline slim pants.

My god im almost there but its such a pain. Ive recently been exercising for very very brief but ridiculously intense cardio and stretch exercises and bathing myself afterwards in polar cold waters.

I hate it. But the weight loss is tremendous.

Oh yeah BMI scale are the most useless thing ever.

I'm 5 ft 7in

weight = 142.5lbs

and bmi says im 22.5

I fit 29x30 pants with ease.

Load of bullshit indeed

See according to bmi scales your weight fhunter places you sorta borderline underweight. And 6%

Thats just really crazy. Seems too farfetched.

On the otherhand if your not sensitive to simple carbs, can burn food fast butnot really gain much muscle its the brown fat.

Another interesting fact is when were toddlers. Doctors would often joke that the heavier they were were often the heathiest.

It's funny cuz it's true. When you a toddler you have large reserves of brown fat.(im reffering to recent born btw)

I know, that that is borderline underweight, not that in bothers me... much.

It bothers my relatives more :).

The "6%" figure I do not believe myself, so... probable my scale is not accurate (or I have done something wrong)...

When I first bought the Tanita scale, about 10 years ago, my BMI was 31.2 and my body fat was 42 percent. I am a mesomorph.

I'm not sure that the BMI is applicable. Once upon a time I'd get all kinds of comments on how skinny I was but my BMI was actually high since I was supposed to have a very light frame as measured by my having such small wrists. I was under 50kg, 110lbs at my high school graduation and stood at 163cm, 5'4". I'm not sure if they still do it the way they used to but it just didn't make sense to me since it seemed like everyone seemed to feel so sorry for me and intent on getting me to eat for being starved. At least I did get plenty to eat that way.

I am 5'11", down from 6' 0.5" in my prime

I weigh 160 lbs.

I know regardless of calculated BMI my true weight should be 145 or less,

Because I am an old Ectomorph who grew a belly and a butt with no other obvious fat.

BMI - another example of figures don't lie but . . .

Moi

Oh :( to eat without counting carbs again <sigh>
