I don't know how many of you like THE BLUES or know that Hugh Laurie sings them and sings then well...

Hugh Laurie also played the caustic DR HOUSE on TV.

And yes, he has a Brit accent because he is British. It's so weird to hear him do HOUSE and then do an interview.

BTW - Liam McIntyre who plays Spartacus loses his accent during the show, too.

I’m not a big blues fan personally, but that song wasn’t bad at all. Hugh Laurie was already a very famous comic actor in the 80s and 90s in Britain before making the move to America. For me it’s actually very odd to hear him talk with a very convincing American accent.

Hugh Laurie has acres of credits, all of them very amusing, some droll, long before he "Americanized" himself. How many remember him as the mincing Prince of Wales in the Dark Adder series? Or with his comic genius partner, Stephen Fry? Google any of these and be prepared to laugh out loud.

It was always sortof weird to see him on House, especially at first. My mind kept flashing back to his various parts on Black Adder, or even Bertie Wooster. To see him suddenly as... well... someone competent, intelligent, and in charge, was somewhat shocking. Great actor though.

I am a sort of fan of The Blues and, yes I know Hugh Laurie is a competent Blues singer. He is not top rank but he is good to listen to and his heart is in it. --FLO--
