Sorry this is a silly question as most of you know I take a very low dose of T just enough to get semierect when I work hard at it every now and then. Now I have had my scrotectomy and have 32 stiches I dont want any chance of getting erect so I stopped the T 3 days ago and plan on leaving it off for 2 weeks I may like none at all ? and never go back but if I do will everything return back to as it was.
Thanks in advance

Yes you can always add or subtract T- that's an interesting thing to do and find how different T levels effect much more than just libido. But TIME is a big factor this way. It takes time for your body to eliminate the T in the blood but it takes far longer for your body to adjust to a different level. My doctor always wanted 3 months on a different dose to get blood results. I was content for a few years with a very low level as well. Somewhere around 100 was fine. But now a few more years later, I've pretty much stopped taking any. I don't know if that's because going from 100 to castrate level wasn't such a big drop as going from a normal to castrate level. Anyway, I liked the ability to play with my dosage- a good point about using gels- and have ended up now using none but obviously your needs and desires may well be different.

I have often missed my dose of T. I am on 12.5 mg and run about 350-400 when tested. I have begun using 25mg on Sun and Wed. due to activity but am wanting to cut it down even more ...like every other day at 1.25 grams (12.5 mg). I am fearful of gaining the weight I have lost using Zija. Don't want to get fat or even chubby. A Dr. friend told me that at my age I could probably go without T replacement. Being...well, 75 in March...I can see what he means. And I might just try going a month without and see what the results weight wise are.

My experience with changing doses has been different from that of most people. After being either off Testosterone or using very small amounts I find that most sexual function no longer returns when I go back to a standard or larger dose. Even though desire returns it is not at all as it was before I went without male hormones. The possibility exists that with a time of no HRT you may end up not being able to return to your former condition. --FLO--

My experience is similar to Flo's. I occasionally go for periods of 3-4 weeks without any T. It takes longer every time to recover to full capacity, and even longer to achieve anything once I do. Frankly, I feel like I would be better off without the T, and I seem to be operating about 1/3 to 1/2 lower than pre-castration using 5 gm of androgel daily (still went through lots of nite sweats and hot flashes even on T when I was first castrated). About day 21-30, I start to feel some of the more overt side effects of total loss of T, and I find it difficult to stay there - especially the arthritic joints, and loss of strength (I must have some for work).

I've talked about this repeatedly. Soon after castration in 2006, I began to experiment with testosterone. I started with "compounded testosterone" and would use more one day or one week, less the next, just to try to find the amount or dose that I liked best. After awhile I decided to stay on a low dose regimen, can't remember the amount, but I stayed on this low dose compounded regimen for quite some time never varying it. One day, maybe a year later, I decided to add more for a couple of days. I had an adverse reaction, my normally small penis seemed to retract where nothing stuck out and I got tenderness in my breasts, even some pain. I cried easily and my emotions were out of control. What happened was that the extra testosterone was converted into estrogen. I finally got myself back to where I was, but it took weeks. Over the last few years I've tried to add more testosterone, but my body won't accept it. It's like it's stuck at a low level, about 110-125 on average. It used to run about 145-155, but since my last trial to add more "t", it's dropped down to 110-125. Also, when I tried to add more and when I had the adverse reaction, I had strong desires to remove my penis. Some day I probably will, but this is my story. I know it's different for everyone. So you can come off testosterone and come back on it, but you never know how you're body will accept it.
