I got one today, the last one available at the place I went. I'd already gone to Costco for one, and they were out. There's a major run on flu vaccines around here, even though I don't think it's really hit around here yet.
I haven't had the flu since 1971, and from what I remember of it, I don't want it again.

Maybe, we all need a good case of influenza now and then.

Didn't get the vaccine, never have, and the main reason is because I have an unnaturally strong immune system. Every single time that other people around me get bugs that make them miserably sick, I only end up with sniffles or a sore throat for a few days. I maybe get sick enough to miss work for one day out of every 2-3 years, I have never caught the flu my entire life, and almost no bugs ever seem to hit me full-force, so honestly I don't feel like I need it.
(As gross as this sounds, it may also be because I was a chronic nose-picker as a kid, and recent studies have suggested that yes, this actually does boost your immune system substantially, because all of the trapped bacteria that come out of there act like natural vaccines once they re-enter your body. Gross, but I'm living proof that it works. It actually seems to me that the kids who are constantly being disinfected and de-germed and live in 100% germ-free environments, are almost always the first ones to get sick, while I pretty much never do. Gotta love how nature works...)

That's what the flu shot is for. It has the most likely strains for that year and is all the case of the flu I need or want. Been getting the shot for 10+ years and haven't had the flu since.

I never get one, and I never will.
I had swine flu in the 70's outbreak, had it for a month, and it damn near killed me. Since then, I've had the flu every now and again, but usually blow it out of my system in a day or so. I've 'gone down' with it 3 times since, usually about once very ten years.
Personally, I do NOT believe in vaccines.
Grandpa was cleaning out old documents the other day and found a record of my childhood immunizations. MMR is listed four times in childhood, and yeah, the first time GAVE me the mumps.
A couple years ago, a girl I went to school with lost her husband to the flu shot. He was forced to get it by his employer, and it not only gave him the flu, but the side effects killed him.
I'll take my chances.

I got a flu shot a couple years ago, I was sick for a week.
I'll take my chances this time. Wash my hands. Drink plenty of liquids.

No flu shot for me. All the years in a hospital or in peoples' homes taking care of the sick I never get sick myself. I find now that I enjoy wine every night I do not get colds or sinus infections and the sinus infections uses to be a frequent problem.
Interesting thoughts about nose picking. That may explain why I have had so few colds. I am typing with one hand and stimulating my immune system with the other.
