Today, I went to the doctor to get some blood sampling done. My resulst are in. The doctor will perfomr my castration and circumsicion in the same operation. He told me that I will have to stay a few days at the hospital in order to heal properly. He will operate on me the december 26th.

Congratulations! A late Christmas present for yourself. I hope becoming and being a eunuch is everything you want it to be.
I celebrated my eunuch anniversary yesterday. 7 years and counting.

Why a few days? I thought both were minor (mostly) operations. Overnight I could see. Or is it an inigual (if I spelled that correctly) castration?

Honestly, if you read the stories of many people here who have gone through castration (e.g. read about hoosierdad on the Dr. Arnkoff thread), the healing is more significant than people tend to expect. It seems that many folks experience significant seeping, swelling, hematoma, and pain. Also, I got circumcises as an adult and your genitals are pretty angry for a while just from that.
It seems really wise to me that the doctor would want the person to plan to stay for a few days. Of course you can be discharged earlier. But it is better than being like those recent patients of Dr. Arnkoff who are dealing with aftercare months after the operation.

I guess I just took it as in through front - open /clamp fish, yank it out, snip and suture, and then repeat as far as the castration goes. Inigual being a different type all together a more complex and major surgery.

My point is that even through scrotum seems to require major recovery. It sounds really simple in practice, but most guys here who had it through scrotum report at least a week of difficulty, about half require medical aftercare to either do additional surgery or at least help reduce the hematoma, and some are still nursing their wounds and unable to function normally many weeks later.
It seems that even though it seems like a simple removal, the body seems to "know" that something significant has happened and it swells, goes into infection fighting oozing mode, and furthermore seeps blood for quite a while.

My question was about the hospital stay of a few days. Most seem to have it as outpatient surgery. Of course I agree with you that any surgery needs time for recovery. Just wondering why he'd be staying a few days in the hospital and not just overnight.

After my castration I was having the same problems. No infections but continued to ooz. My local urologist had me soak in a hot tub of water twice a day and use one of those ear syringe to flush the old blood out. After several days my scrotum flatten and starting healing up. Add a cup of chlorine bleach in the water.

I know but my point is that people should stay a day at least in the hospital after castration, just like you would with any oother internal surgery. Doctors really shouldn't send someone home with such a serious woun swing and seeping wound. The amount of aftercare required is significant
