How to make physicians do a better job.
I think that if a patient has to fire his or her physician, the physician should have to refund every cent he or she was paid for the last six months. If the physician thinks that he or she actually did a good job, the physician can appeal to an arbitration board of one physician, one consumer activist and one malpractice attorney.

People deserve to be paid for their services. If you're unhappy with their services, seek care elsewhere.

I'll be honest... although I understand the emotion behind wanting to do this, I'm personally glad that I do not have to worry about returning all of the money that I earned at a job if I should get fired from it. Can you imagine that happening to you? With that in mind, I really don't think it's fair to expect anyone, even a doctor, to be held to that kind of standard. Whether they did a good job or not, they still deserve to be paid for the work that they did. And if it was something bad enough that it caused you harm, there's always malpractice lawsuits, which have doctors under enough pressure as it is.

How to make physicians do a better job.
Make a list of questions or topics.
Give the physician a copy.
Let the doc organize answers because of related questions the doc might spot.
It works, honest. I've told elderly neighbors to try that trick and they were satisfied.
