ARGO (the movie out this weekend)
ARGO,
a story about the CIA, Iran and hostages.
Good movie. Funny, well written, suspenseful, and well acted.
"You want to get a Taco."
IT actually got a round of applause at the end.
one last thing -- Argo-fuck-yourself
If you see the movie, you'll get the joke.

I saw it last night, I really enjoyed it, and felt it was very good.
I'll buy it when it comes to home video.

Re: ARGO (the movie out this weekend)
This is starting to make the primetime rounds on HBO -- 8pm and 11pm tonight. Tomorrow - 6:55pm ... on HBO HD too. and 9pm Tuesday.
This is one of the good movies of the past year. It is tight, tense, and at the same time a lot of fun.

Re: ARGO (the movie out this weekend)
I'm not sure what you are asking.
This is Ben Affleck's film as director and Tony Mendez's book. Mendez was the agent who actually did the deed in Iran back in 1979.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argo_(2012_film)
Wikipedia provides the historical links to the book, an article in a newsweekly, and several other sources of the story that are in print.
The movie magic is not inventing the situation or the utterly ridiculous plot of filming a movie during a hostage crisis. That's the true part. The movie magic is the film itself is made in such a way that it builds to an exciting climax. The audience is alternately entertained and thrilled by the story and that is good movie making.

Re: ARGO (the movie out this weekend)
Who in real life was "film producer Lester Siegel" of the movie.
They required a Hollywood producer with previous credits to be the "name" associated with Argo.
True?
Alan Arkin says he patterned his character after four Hollywood producers to create, Lester Siegel.

Yet a "Lester Siegel" is central to selling the film, "Argo".
We know who deepthroat was.
Who was Lester S. ?
Esta muey claro ? :-\

Re: ARGO (the movie out this weekend)
Alan Arkin's character was his creation.
In real life John Chambers (who is played by John Goodman) brought in a second makeup artist Robert Sidell. They are real people. Alan Arkin's character is a composite of many would-be producers on movies ...
The use of the name Lester Siegel is purely fictional in the movie ARGO.
In reality, the "producer" was two makeup men that Hollywood thought were trying to become producers. That's in the SLATE article linked below...
It was all very convincing. The "announcement" was so real that Wikipedia's entry says they received 26 scripts for the Sci-Fi movie ARGO. I linked to the Wikipedia article in my former post.
Slate explains it all here:
