How many of you bother to read and respond to the poll you see on the introductory page of the EA? Well, this time around the poll was about celebrating your castration, and among the choices was "Get a vanity license plate explaining yourself."

Well, why not? I checked with the California DMV, and all license plates with such words as "eunuch, castrate, gelded, etc" or anything close to them have already been taken. OR, the DMV simply will not issue such a plate with what many would consider to offensive words.

But yesterday I paid $41 for a new vanity plate, which will read "DRY TREE". The DMV wanted to know what the plate meant, so I wrote down, very truthfully, that I was a member of the Sierra Club.

But of course we eunuchs know where else that phrase occurs, and what it means.

It should arrive in 6-8 weeks.

Andrew, nice plate. :)

Did you get it on the Yosemite plate blank? I know California has a Yosemite plate available. That would fit in great with the Sierra Club excuse.

Where I live we get 8 charachters. So dead stump could go as Dead stmp. Of course that could be dead stamp, but who cares?

We have a special issue for the Great Smoky Mountains that always ends in "SM" I thought about getting the personal number IM 4, or IAM4, or RU4 since the plate number would always end in "SM".

So the license would read I AM 4 SM. 😄 :D

I doubt it would get past the puritanical review process here, but then these bible thumpers may not know what SM is. I mean, my city has buses that run around with S.C.A.T. on the front in big letters. I'm sure it means something like (S)outhern (C)ommunity (A)rea (T)ransit, but we all know what it really means, don't we?;)

I gave serious thought ordering a plate that said "EA_P3" but I thought it might not be a good idea ... someone might recognize it and slash my ... ... tires.

That and it would have made my plate cost $291, not $240 ... ouch.
