Hello,

I am a 67 year old male living in Alabama. I have been considering having my testicles removed for a couple of years. My post "Castration for Older Male" gives a little background. I need some advice. I am in process of firming up a date to have the procedure. At first I was looking at March 13 we have decided to try and schedule for week of 27 Nov. Question I have is should I be healed up enough by Xmas as we have Grandkids visiting? Dr. Arnkoff will be my doctor. Would appreciate advice. Thanks

I'm not sure of Dr. Arnkoff's approach or surgical technique, but when I had mine removed it was pretty much walking normally and doing normal things other than heavy lifting by week 3. I'd say you'll likely be o.k. for grandkids to visit, but if you have really young ones, don't let 'em sit on your lap or run at you.

Thanks LT. Dr. Arnkoff uses the Scrotal technique. I am in fact now scheduled to have this don on 27 Nov.
