I had my annual physical last week and the nurse who was looking at my chart asked me some questions, one such question led me to tell her I was castrated. I think it had to do with my testosterone levels or something associated with that. When I told her that I was castrated she didn't say anything at first, but I guess curiosity got the best of her and she said, "What does it feel like?" I asked her what she meant, she sheepishly said, "being castrated." "Do you mean the surgery?" I asked. She said something like, "Well, no, being or living without your testicles?" I told her I couldn't remember what it was like to even have testicles, I don't miss them, it's like I never had them." She seemed a little shocked or amazed, not sure exactly, but she said, "Aren't you depressed?" I told her no, that it's like my mind has removed the memory of them. She started to ask another question when the doctor walked in.

I think a lot of people wonder what it's like to be castrated, to be a eunuch, so here's the answer. Your body adjusts, after a while, you don't miss your testicles, your mind adjusts and you keep on living without them. I can't even remember what it was like to have testicles. YodaNell said that after his penectomy, after just a short time, he couldn't remember what it was like to have a penis. So I'm not depressed about being castrated, rather, I'm glad, no regrets. My sex life was out of control, castration brought me calm and release from the constant sexual pressure. I'm a happy eunuch.

This is very typical for a eunuch. It's like the effects of stopping smoking. Over time you don't think about it or even remember what it was like before, only without testosterone the change is much quicker for an formerly-intact male than being without nicotine for an ex-smoker.

i took a few vodka shots and even though I am not a eunuch I do not miss the aggressiveness and high sex drive. In the process of injecting I did feel like crap those weeks but as months go on I am feeling normal again but different

One thing I love about it is I feel really focused and intelligent.

Like you I don't remember what it's like to have balls. I do miss the way they did a little "dance" as I jerked off, but other than that, no big loss.

I've told many people that after a while it's just how your body is. You don't notice it and don't really care.

"How does it feel to be castrated?" is the question I am asked first and most frequently when someone finds out that I have had my balls removed. I do not have a ready answer, but I can usually make myself understood if I take enough time to talk about it. Women are, in general, more eager to ask questions while men (or, at least straight men) seem to want to ignore the fact that I am, as my daughter says, "not exactly a boy". --FLO--

Good question and this goes wthout saying, some of us eunuchs needs to come out of the closet. I was castrated (by squezing and rubbing my scrotum with estrogen vaginal creme for some time) so I lived withour "balls" for the last 18 years and in 1999 had full penectomy and, regretfully SRS. The reason I want us to be visible is to open up for the right to modify my genitalia in a fashion I feel comfortable with.

So I really wish to start some sort of group into cherishing eunichism in all it's glorious diversity. We have allways been around and honestly, do not belive all stories about "forced castration and penectomy". In Serena Nanda book on indian eunuchs, hijras most really do surgery very willingly.

Besides, have you heard of Male to Eunuch regret cases? I'm a WPATH member and we are in a process of discussion Standards of Care for Male to Eunuchs, hopefulle we will come out of our closet some day like you did Hah.
