So I think I will continue to post information to read here. Not because people cant Google it themselves, but because there is interest in the stories.

Two posts I think are worth a read are...

My therapist has decided to retire recently and has given some hope before he left that the attitudes of the medical community (at least in the UK) is changing. It is my hope that the NHS will stop regarding

gender issues as a psychiatric / mental disorder.

For now there is no one to go to but my GP or wait for my appointment at CHX in London. If thoughts can change it could free up GPs to make decisions themselves rather than rely on other specialist departments. Its about time British GPs started to learn themselves all about GID.

There are some good points also on how to approach gender identity with young people and how the environment may or may not effect them. Personally I don't think what you play with as a child "effects" your identity at all and I wont shop in places that have girls toys all in shades of pink and nothing else. Pink is not a colour for boys or girls... its a colour for everyone.

Enjoy

Great post. I had a little look at your first article. I love the quote from The Prophet about the true relationship between parents and children. I have this book before, but would love to get my hands on it agian. It is full of deep and wonderful turns of phrase.

I agree on the colour likes between the sexes being influenced by society. Why shouldn't a boy wear pink? I don't, but that is just being self consciense. I don't dislike the colour.

"Real Men Wear Skirts" lol. For sure some men can enjoy this, but skirts as such are still often sexually attractive to onlookers. It is naturally more desirable for women to wear them on the basis that being sexually attractive is more important to their self esteem. As a result some women wear tight pants wheteas some men wear loose shorts, which might be more comfortable.
