Effect of various drugs on male sexuality

Hello
I'm new here, but have some questions.
What different types of drugs are there for suppressing male sexuality?
Are there types of drugs that kill sex drive 100%? (compared to surgical castration)
Are there drugs that just inhibit/block the orgasm/ejaculation? I heard something about some SSRI drugs, but not sure how 'effective' it is.
Are there drugs that will prevent erection but not lower sex drive? And some that will lower/kill sex drive, but would retain the ability for full erection?

The way that I read your thread title made me think you were going to speak about how to change male sexuality! Cause I have been funnily thinking about that. But as far as removal/reducing sex drive, androcur/siterone and deep provera (or something like that) are two famous ones oft discussed on these boards.

I'm not certain what you are asking, but I am a 67 year old male who takes an anti-depressant(Citalopram), which has diminished 90 % of my sex drive since I began taking it around 2003. I also take finasteride for an enlarged prostate and have not been able to cum since October, 2009. The doctor told me that Citalopram would reduce my interest in sex and may cause an inability to get erections when he prescribed it in 2003. The Citalopram really controls the depression, but I haven't noticed any improvement in having to run to the bathroom to urinate about every two hours!!! I hope this answers some of your questions. Best wishes to you.

So the citalopram reduces your sex-drive and not only the ability to orgasm/ejaculate?
Interesting

Anti depressants work because they lower you T level

Interesting!
Are high testosterone levels related to depression?

I've been on finasteride for about 1 1/2 to 2 years now and rarely was I ever able to produce any semen upon orgasm...Occasionally...but rarely...My erections were feeble and not strong enough for penetration...I use the past tense, as for the last 6 months or so I have been taking Spirotone 2x daily 25 mgs total 50 mgs per day and 2-2mg tabs of Estro-fem daily total 4 mgs daily...I decreased the dosage of the Spiro from 50 mgs 2X, as I was getting dizzy (it's a BP lowering med. primarily)...It also causes more frequent urination, requiring that I get up once a night to pee...Since I lowered the dosage of Spiro, I found my libido returning a bit, and every few days I masturbate. I orgasm after a long period, dry, and never with an erection...I find this satisfactory..My breasts have swollen noticeably, and my nipples have enlarged and are sensitive...All outcomes I find quite satisfactory..My testes had shrunken while I was on the larger dose of Spironolactone, but now they seem to have regained their original size (unfortunately)..There's always a trade-off, it seems. I'm happy with this present solution....We'll see how this progresses, and the outcome...Gotta go now....Gotta pop a 1/4 tab of Spiro and a 2 mg pill of Estro-Fem....Enjoy..smooches Jackie

Paring,
I'll respectfully disagree with that assertion.
I was on a few anti-depressants that did indeed lessen, if not kill my sex drive.
I am currently on Wellbutrin and I have zero trouble with sexual performance and my T levels are only moderately low. My T levels have been an issue for years even before I started on anti-depressants.

No, quiet the contrary, low testosterone between castration level (50) and low minimun (200) is enough to get you depressed, which doesn't mean that you'll be depressed. There are other external factors that can contribute to this. When T level is too low you'll eventually experience many side effects and each one of those side effects, they may take years to appear, will bring you closer to depression. Wellbutrin has also an anti androgenic effect but it is also give you a boost of energy (well sort of).
