Was it an open primary ballot or closed?

I can understand if it was a Democratic Party primary ballot. Why bother?

Oregon is the Vermont of the West. Si?

If you do not vote you give up your right to complain. When someone wants to talk polotics the first thing I ask is "did you vote"? Non voters thoughts carry no weight.

And voters carry weight. 😄

What an illusion.

It's the money.

Choice is the illusion.

Got it?

Both parties have annihilated the middle middle class treating them with the mercantile interests of colonies.

The money flows away.

You got Tweedle Dee who is a big benefactor from banking and Wall Street donations

AND

Tweedle Dum, who also just happens to be a big benefactor from the same big money, down to Pfeizer, Inc.

Vote,

Dum

or

Dee

I would set up a poll if I knew how.

There is always a choice, sometime we actually get the right person in office. But you give up your right to bitch when you don't vote. You may not like it because Paul is not the front runner for the republicans but that's life. The choice this year is Obama and Romney, anybody else on the ballot is window dressing and doesn't matter. It does not matter if you think who is pulling what strings Moi, the last time I checked, only people vote, as much as corporations are now people they don't walk into that voting booth and vote.

You may not like the idea that we don't live in a democracy but then again we never have, a misconception of most Americans.

You should have seen the silly and quite short primary ballot for my little township and county.

It was pathetic because it was all local and sparse.

But the local township council, school board and county officials are important for day to day mundane crap. I mean really mundane like local mundane -- roads, trees, burning, building permits, snow removal, culvert maintenance, berm mowing... all the important mundane shit that makes stuff work every day.

There's only one presidential election every four years but two elections every year for local stuff.

Exactly why I have voted in every election since I turned 21. (I am old enough to have missed the 18 year old vote by about a year.) I want to be able to complain and moan and sob and I must make the effort to vote in all elections. Of course that also means that I have to find out about the issues and candidates for all offices on propositions on the ballot.

I went and voted today in our primary which will be May 8, when we will be in Savannah, GA. Early voting is the best way of dealing with the absentee issue short of online ballots which we should soon adopt. The easier we make voting, the more folks will do it and the better the chances of getting the influence of the Koch brothers out of our political system will be.

it was a primary ballot and we dont have open primaries in oregon

every person on my ballot was running unopposed

1 person for president...one person for senator...one person for representative to congress...one for state representative...one for state senator and about 11 judges all unopposed

in all my years i have never seen a ballot like this

i will not waste my time filling it out or 50 cents mailing it in

i already know the result of the election and who wins

should be a box somebody else that i can check

i never discuss my disgust for politics especially on this forum as i was told not too

so no complaining...i am just stating i am non political this year and wont get involved

my wifes ballot is from the republican party she has nobody running in most of her places on the ballot as the republicans know the futility of it and cant get anyone to waste their time ...i am surprised they sent a ballot to a dead person...my wife died 4 months back
