Update!

Post by bigdude1 (imported) »

Tuesday I go in for my gastric bypass surgery. I had to have some bloodwork done last week for pre-op so I had them test my T-levels. After being on Lupron 1st then Trelstar for a little over 3 months now my T-levels are down to just 15 ng/dl (basically zilch). Before I had limited "use" for a lack of a better word when my T-levels where in the 80 - 100 levels. Now everything is completely gone.

I will say that it is a different feeling now that I'm not compulsively driven by out of control sexual desires anymore. I'm really starting to enjoy speaking with females now & being able to look them in the eyes & not their breasts! It's nice to be able to go into a store or walk in a crowd & not feel like I'm sexually evaluating every female! Overall I'd say it feels pretty good not being hyper-sexual anymore!

One interesting thing that I have noticed is the way that I sense touch in my groin area. It used to be that almost anything would cause stimulation to my testcles &/or penis. Even if I wore boxers & things giggled around I could get aroused. Now it's no different feeling then the rest of my body.

Summing it up I'd say that not getting all bent out of shape by garbage on the internet or spending countless hours having my mind race wildly is really improving my quality of life. I will say this, I'm glad that I found a good & understanding endocrinologist & primary care physican to work with me on this & protecting my health. I would advise anyone wanting to explore chemical castration to seek medical supervision if you can. I realize lots of guys don't have insurance and may not be able to go the Lupron or Trelstar route that I went but if you can you'll be glad you did!

Like I said above Tuesday I go in for Gastric Bypass surgery so I might not be responding back right away but as soon as I can I'll share more about what all is going on. I haven't seen anyone else here in this forumn going the route I'm going so if anyone has any questions please ask away. I'll be happy to answer back as soon as I can!
