Really interesting legal case -- it is obviously vigilante justice which society simply can't tolerate, but it certainly doesn't feel like she did anything that other people wouldn't do or want to do, and also what is the part that emotional distress plays into such things?

Cutting off his penis won't prevent him from molesting children in other ways , especially if he has not been chemically or physically castrated (which is still no guarantee). He could now be even worse from sexual frustration and anger. Cutting off his arms and legs, blinding him, cutting out his tongue, and making him deaf, and each day bringing him almost to the point of orgasm, but not letting it happen, now that would have been an ultimate punishment - not that I condone torture as we must all live by the rule of law or we turn into a society that will self destruct. But thinking about what would be appropriate punishment (not doing it) is a nice fantasy.

This is a story of a child that was exposed to horrors that most of us can only imagine. For a young girl to have all forms of trust and faith so violated by her own father is horrendous. While I certainly do not condone her final actions, her reasoning was colored by her own experiences with this man. The need to protect her neices from what she had endured was overpowering.

This is a woman who now deserves the chance to try to build something out of her life. Therapy, and lots of it will be required, but she has more than paid her debt. Hopefully the Parole Board will see it that way too.

Actually, it did prevent him -- since it killed him.
