Castrated men grow unusually tall because they are deprived of estrogen. That is good news for short guys . I guess !!!

There was a picture of a surviving eunuch in China, and he was a small man. And what about cats, dogs, horses etc. They don't grow very tall. Though I think I read once that a gelding might grow a little taller than a stallion. I think this is probably exagerated, and while they might grown a bit tall, not very much taller than a normal man.

When deprived of either Testosterone or Estrogen before maturity the growth plates in the long bones do not close in a timely manner resulting in increased limb length and, therefore, potentially greater height. I am not aware that this happens in other species than human. --FLO--

The reason men are taller then females is Estrogen closes the bone growth plates faster than Testosterone does. That is why eunuchs which were castrated before puberty are almost always very tall (that is without HRT).

If one never experienced estrogen I guess it would be near impossible to feel deprived of something.

But this makes me wonder if taller women are low in estrogen. Or in medical situations where for some reason ovaries were removed before a girl entered puberty, there was no estrogen.

When female sex organs are removed is that person also a "eunuch"?

I don't normally visit this thread, was just browing and curious.
