In zeker één geval betreft het een jongen die seksueel misbruikt was door broeders in een katholiek internaat. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van NRC Handelsblad. Daarbij zijn aanwijzingen gevonden voor nog eens tien gevallen.

Inside the Roman Catholic Church are in the fifties under aged boys castrated. With that they had to be released from their "homosexual behaviour". Certainly one case is related to a boy who was sexual abused by lay brothers in a Catholic boarding school. This comes true by an examination of NRC Handelsblad. Further are indications found for another ten cases.
De commissie-Deetman, die in opdracht van de Rooms-Katholieke Kerk het kindermisbruik binnen de Kerk onderzocht, werd over de castraties schriftelijk geïnformeerd, maar vermeldde het niet in haar eindrapport. Volgens de commissie bevatte de melding onderzoekstechnisch weinig aanknopingspunten voor verder onderzoek. De melder zou ook gevraagd zijn te bellen met de commissie, maar hij deed dat niet. Melder Cornelius Rogge (79) zegt dat verzoek niet te hebben ontvangen. Waarom de commissie Rogge niet gebeld heeft, is onduidelijk.
The Commission Deetman, that by order of the Roman Catholic Church investigated the child abuse inside the Church, was written informed, but did not mention it in her final report. According the commission contained the declaration "investigation thechnical minor information for further investigation". The reporter should also been asked to phone the commission, but did not do that. Reporter Cornelis Rogge (79) says the request not to have recieved. Why the commission didn't phone Rogge is not clear.
De krant onderzocht de melding van Rogge, die betrekking had op de castratie van misbruikslachtoffer Henk Heithuis. Heithuis deed in 1956 bij de politie aangifte over ontucht in een katholiek jongensinternaat in Harreveld in Gelderland. Na zijn getuigenis werd hij door de politie afgeleverd in de ook door katholieke broeders geleide psychiatrische inrichting Huize Padua in het Brabantse Boekel en gecastreerd wegens zijn homoseksuele gedrag.
The newspaper investigated the statement of Rogge, that was connected with the castration of Henk Heithuis. Heithuis lodged a complaint in 1956 about a fornication in a Catholic boys boarding school in Harreveld in Gelderland. After his evidence he was delivered by the police in the also by Catholic lay brothers directed psychiatric institution Huize Padua in the Brabantic town Boekel and castrated because of his homosexual behaviour.
Ook gevoelige informatie over oud-premier Marijnen buiten rapport van Deetman gelaten
Informatie over de castratie is niet het enige dat ontbreekt in het eindrapport van de commissie. Deetman nam ook gevoelige informatie over Vic Marijnen, politicus van de Katholieke Volkspartij (KVP) niet op. Marijnen minister vanaf 1959, premier in 1963 was tot 1959 bestuursvoorzitter van het internaat waar Henk Heithuis en tientallen andere pupillen zijn misbruikt. Uit een vertrouwelijk feitenverslag van de commissie-Deetman blijkt dat in archieven is ontdekt dat Marijnen zich in 1958 ingespannen heeft om veroordeelde ontuchtige broeders van hun celstraf af te helpen. In notulen van de broeders staat: Marijnen heeft een weg gezocht, maar op advies van de Bisschop is het gratieverzoek ingetrokken.

Information about the castration is not the only that is missing in the final report of the commission. Deetman did not too record sensitive information about Vic Marijnen, politician of the Katholieke Volkspartij - Catholic People Party - (KVP). Marijnen - Minister from 1959, Prime Minister in 1963 - was until 1959 President of the Management of the boarding school where Henk Heithuis and tens of other pupils are abused. According a confidential account of factr of the Commission-Deetman turns out that in the archives is discovered that Marijnen has tried to relaese the condemned lewd lay brothers from their detention. The minutes of the lay brothers say: "Marijnen has looked for a way out, but on advice of the Bishop is the petition of mercy canceled".
Volgens de commissie is de informatie over Marijnen niet vermeld omdat die betrekking had op een specifieke casus die onlosmakelijk is verbonden met een naar een persoon herleidbare beschrijving.

De oppositie in de Tweede Kamer vindt al langer dat het eindrapport van Deetman vragen onbeantwoord laat. Een parlementair onderzoek zou meer licht moeten werpen op de rol van de overheid.
The opposition in the Tweede Kamer (Parliament) thinks a long time that the final report of Deetman leaves questions unanswered. A parliamentary investigation should bring more light on the role of the authorities.
