anti-depressants to lower sexual function

Post by -jessie- (imported) »

First off, I'm wondering where all the old posts went? I have been coming to this site and board for about 9 years now, and thinking about the subject of the site all my life. It is amazing how persistent the thoughts are and I don't have any better idea about where they come from and why I have them than I did when I was 13 and thinking about becoming a girl. To share a little, I have never experienced feeling like I was in the wrong body but I have always desired to be more feminine and have had specific castration fantasies as well. Though this site has not helped me to know the why it has helped me to accept who I am immensely - thank you all for that.

I am on warfarin for DVT issues so that takes Depo and Estrogen off the table as I never read anything saying they could be taken safely by someone in my situation. So I am left thinking about anti-androgens and anti-depressants. My question is if all I want to do is limit sexual function with the least amount of other side-effects which anti-depressant are best for that? What considerations are there with a combined anti-androgen / anti-depressant approach?

Thanks

I can't help you with your question but when you want to become a girl why don't you do anything about it?

Anti-depressants may have a high remittance rate for certain individuals. (They quickly lose their effectiveness and only have certain side effects.) It seems to be hereditary to a large degree.

Paxil is the worst of the worst when it comes to killing libido. It can also cause gynemastcomia & minor lactation in women & MEN!

For everything you ever wanted to know psychiatric meds go to http://www.crazymeds.us. Awesome website & forum!

I've taken mirtazapine, sertaline, venlafaxine and bupropion in the past, none of which ever lowered my libido. I've just started with Paxil (paroxetine) for social anxiety.
