Hepatitis C Now Killing More Americans than HIV
I am amazed Hep C has never made "Disease of the Week" status.
It is an epidemic whose effects we will witness. Especially from Russia due to bad medical practices.
I doubt Hep C is new. Just defined. Remember all those who never drank but died of cirrhosis?
Like HIV before, a blood test for Hep C is special. Not so for the more mundane A & B.
Hint, chronic and mildly elevated liver enzymes (SGOT, SGPT, GammaGT) often obtained in routine annual physicals, is a sign of Hep. C.
BTW I got criticized for obtaining too many positive Hep C tests and I was to justify why others were not even obtaining the test.
Like Heliobacter pylori, I have a special appreciation for Hep. C.
Two microbes that deserve more respect.

One way of following the spread of mankind over the globe is following the mutations in their H. pylori.
What a germ.
