The effects of low/no T combined with a steroid like prednisone.

I have ulcerative colitis and am required to take prednisone and 6-MP(a chemo drug). Prednisone, a steroid, has some of the same side effects as female hormones. I run the risk of weight gain, increased blood sugar, loss of bone density, etc. and taking 6-MP requires me to have my liver enzymes checked every 2 or 3 months in order to make sure I'm metabolizing the drug okay.
It's my understanding that female hormones mess with your blood sugar, fat, weight gain, and liver function. I'm thinking about having my colon removed so I don't have to take medication anymore(I have a 40% risk of needing it removed anyway). Are there any medical reports dealing with potential complications from combining such medications? I would obviously not do so apart from medical supervision. I plan on having any drugs I need prescribed by a sympathetic psychiatrist.
