The History of Circumcision

I have finally found the box containing my copy of (full title page):
--
History of Circumcision from the Earliest Times to the Present: Moral and Physical Reasons for its Performance, with a History of Eunuchism, Hermaphrodism, etc., and of the Different Operations Practiced Upon the Prepuce.
By P. C. Remondino, M.D.
Member of the American Medical Association, of the American Public Health Association, of the San Diego County Medical Society, of the State Board of Health of California, and of the Board of Health of the City of San Diego; Vice-President of California State Medical Society and of Southern California Medical Society, etc.
No.11 in The Physicians' and Students' Ready Reference Series
Philadelphia and London: F.A. Davis, Publisher, 1891,
x, 346 pp.
--
The prose is floridly Victorian and can be read purely for enjoyment of the convoluted sentence structure, widespread references to the classical literature, and immense vocabulary. Unfortunately, my copy is very badly water-stained and, try as I did, could not be read by my OCR. I will re-type and submit to the Archive over the next couple of weeks chapters
8 - History of Emasculation, Castration, and Eunuchism; &
9 - Philosophical Considerations Relating to Eunuchism and Medicine.
Given the length of the chapters, each chapter will need to be submitted in sections. They will appear as "Remondino, Chapt. 8, part 1," etc. If there are requests for additional chapters, I may attempt typing them after I finish these first two.
