A 15-year-old Tucson boy has "significant" injuries after a friend shot him in the penis with a BB gun Monday morning.

The two boys were playing with BB guns on the northwest side and the shooting was accidental, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a spokeswoman for the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

Crews from Mountain Vista Fire District responded to the call near West Cortaro Farms and North Shannon roads, said Capt. Grant Cesarek a spokesman for the department. The teen was taken to University of Arizona Medical Center with injuries Cesarek said described as significant, but not life-threatening.

Probably ruptured one or both corpus cavernosums, which a large bb would make it a puncture wound and that could cause significant damage. Possible nerve damage, possible erectal disfunction, possible bloodly mess.

15 years old with probable erectile dysfunction, Not good news for him.

Must have been one helluva powerful bb gun or the kid had his dick out when it was shot.

We had BB gun fights when I was younger. Was it stupid? Sure it was, young boys/teenage boys do stupid things. Maybe the one who shot the other boy was goofing around, horsing around (oh, that's what Sandusky did, scratch the horsing around), but what's going to happen to the boy's penis? Hopefully things will be fixed and he'll have normal function.

I can definetly feel for him... I hope he wont have any long term problems...

Something to keep in mind about this, times change.

When I was a kid, I shot and was shot by other kids with bb guns. The bb guns have not changed that much, I suspect the bb velocity is not significantly higher today, might be actually lower with bb guns today, but kid's clothing HAS changed a lot. When I was a kid, everyone, every boy at least (and most girls too) wore Levi Strauss blue jeans all the time except on Sundays (or Saturdays for Seventh Day Adventist and Jews). A bb gun, even at point blank range would more often than not bounce off the denim, unless they were really a worn out pair of jeans. It hurt like hell to get shot in the crotch, and that of course it the reason most of us deliberately aimed for the crotch of any enemy stupid enough to expose that part of himself, but at least with a good new pair of blue jeans you knew the bb would probably bounce and not penetrate. Today's boys like to wear baggy baggy super baggy "shorts" that usually droop down to the mid-calf level, and they are usually made of some really flimsy polyester knit fabric, a bb could penetrate that stuff pretty easily.

My question is... WHY IN THE FUCK WERE THESE MORONS USING A BB GUN when PAINT BALL GUNS are now easily available? Back in the stone age when I was a kid, paintball guns were not yet invented, if there is anything better about 2011 as compared to 1961 it is the availability of paintball guns. Now, stupid adolescent boys can have their "gunfights" and so long as everyone remembers to wear eye protection, the worst thing that happens is a red mark on someone's butt. If either of these boys were my kid, you can bet the bb in the penis would be a relatively minor pain when I was finished with them, DAMN! Can you even imagine the ER & hospital bills that are gonna come from this? Not to mention the humiliation.

BB guns have changed. I doubt he was shot with a regular Daisy type BB gun. Undoubtedly, he was shot with a pump-up or CO2 powered pellet gun that shoots BBs. I have one, and it would easily puncture a penis.
