Are there any long term effects on an intact male not ejaculating for a long period of time?

Why is ejaculation so important to men? I would think that it would only be important if you wanted to get the girl pregnant.

Seems like a real contridiction - wanting to be a eunuch and also being concerned about still being able to ejaculate.



For intact men, ejaculation is important because there is a physical build up within the sex organs of prostate and seminal fluid. This creates a real physical pressure that can be very discomfortable. In fact intact men will have ejaculation while they sleep if they don't ejaculate frequently enough while awake.

There is no contradiction with his question -- he is NOT concerned about still being able to ejaculate -- he is asking whether there is any problem for not ejaculating. Presumably he does not want to ejaculate and is worried there might be a health risk.

Many of us who choose to be eunuchs....elective eunuchs...do NOT have concerns about being able to ejaculate after castration.

In any case, as time goes on, the prostate shrinks, and even if the eunuch can still obtain an erection and have an orgasm, that orgasm will be "dry", with no fluid from either testicles (gone) or prostate (dried up).

I don’t want an erection every day nor do I want to ejaculate daily but there are times when its nice to know I can still get it up and still ejaculate and I hope this continues as life goes on.

That sounds like a real advantage. My wife would probably be willing to masturbate me if that was the case. She doesn't like the sticky mess.

I guess that you mentioned this before but I never thought much about it.

You can do the following if you do not want to ejaculate with an orgasm. If you place a firm amount of pressure at a point a third of the way from your scrotum to your anus you will not ejaculate through your urinary opening. You must maintain the pressure for 1-2 minutes AFTER the orgasm has COMPLETELY subsided or your urinary spincter at the bladder will not close completely and you will dribble semen.

If done properly this technique will cause you to have what is known as a retrograde ejaculation and your semen will go into your urinary bladder. The next time that you empty your badder (urinate) the semen will come out.

Usually this takes a LOT of pressure, especially at first, until your urinary meatal spincters (there are two, if memory serves), become accustomed to the retrograde ejaculation. Now, you need not be too concerned here with permanent damage. Your body just needs to get used to it. It is a similar process to a girl having penetrative sex for the first time needing to become used to the feeling of penetration.

The best way to attain the amount of pressure needed is to straddle a bed post with the end of the post at the proper spot that I metioned above. Be careful not to crush a testicle just yet. The object is to use enough pressure to completely obstruct the urethra. Be sure that your ejaculation is completely over or you will dribble semen and disgust your wife.

Keep in mind the pressure needs to be FIRM. Probably you will not be able to do it by pressure from your fingers at first, but eventually as you learn the technique, you will.

If you do not have a bed with bedposts you can stand a ball bat on end and lower your weight on it to achieve the same effect. If you do this, however, be careful NOT to slip. You wouldn't want to show up in the ER with a ball bat hanging out of your butt.

Now, you all may think that I am joking here since that last crude remark, but I am serious. Retrograde ejaculation can become a serious fertility problem. But then again, so can castration.

Blocking the urethra using such objects as a urinary catheter will NOT completely obstruct the urethra and you will leak semen around it. In addition, this type of obstruction can damage the tissues lining the urethra or even split them in rare cases because the tendancy is to inflate the bulb larger to prevent such leaks.

SO, Mac, IF this will make your wife not mind pleasuring you more regularly it will be worth it to perfect the technique for yourself. I would not rely on it as a method of birth control but if you get the hang of it you may even try some penetrative sex using this technique, if she doesn't mind penetration.

Also, keep in mind that it is possible to leak semen WITHOUT orgasm and ejaculation. So, know your body and be careful. If all that bothers your lady is ejaculation, you should be able to overcome that and have "DRY" orgasms using this technique. This will allow you two hopefully to become more sexually active.

Sorry about the delay, I have been away on vacation.

From my experience of going 22.75 days without ejaculating I haven't noticed any problems. As A-1 says you will still get some semen to "Leak Out" as was evidence on my underwear the next mourning. (I would say that there wasn't much more than a drop at night.) When I finally did ejaculate I had 3-4 times more fluid than I normally do, this lasted for the 2 ejaculations after the long wait.

The only thing I really noticed about refraining from ejaculating for 22.75 days was waking up 1-3 times a night with a "woody" (normally that isn't a problem, but when I was healing from some modifications to my penis, finished meatotomy and started subincision, it was very uncomfortable), and having all that pent up energy.

I once went 75 days without ejaculating. Not once did I have a nocturnal emission during that time. However, my testicles did get rather large and when I finally "shot the cannon" what came out was rather chunky. I will say this, that first orgasm after that long felt REEEAAALLLL good.

How did I go so long with an orgasm? Let's just say Army Basic Training is not the easiest place to masturbate. It was also very difficult to keep the mast down while in the shower room. I must have been the only guy there thinking about women to PREVENT myself from getting an erection.

The reason :-

When I read Broad Island (http://www.eunuch.org/Alpha/B/ea_22319Broad_Is.htm) - I decided to try not to "spill my seed" as the story states. That was 1st January 2002 and I still haven't intentionally (only 3 nocternal emissions in that time).

Thats why I am asking is there any harm being done.
