Sorry I was not able to get in and send any stories over lately. It has been very hectic and I tend to put somethings off till later if I can.
But!
Today I went through another massive effort done by those incredable folks we know as "the proofreaders" and pushed all the completed stuff into the general indexes.
There are a massive amount of single stories. A lot from the old old indexs so I can only imagine some headaches on the proofreaders part.
If you are a Harry Potter fan this update is good for you! Lots of Harry Potter stuff, enough to last you till next year!
For those that have been asking about when new stories will be arriving, I don't have a timeline as to when a new story submission page will be available. Probably not for some time as we really are concentrating on rebuilding the existing stories. However, again I recommend that you look for some of the older stuff (submission dates of 2001 and earlier is a good start) because the rebuilding of the stories have made them so much more readable.

Thank-you talula for your efforts on transferring the stories over to the new archive. Though I am on the proofreading end of things, I know how much work you do to make sure we've done it right before bumping them over for everyone to read. Thank-you so much.

When we first started the process, I could get through maybe thirty. Your work on the back-end has been incredible. You deserve a huge amount of credit. People who enjoy the stories should be thanking you, not hounding you.
I was always a reader of the archive, but there were always stories that did not interest me, and there were vast numbers of stories I skipped because (it seemed) they did not fit with my interests. As a proofreader I have been exposed to so many I had never tried before, and it has opened my eyes. There are true works of art available for people to read free of charge here on the archive. There are many that speak to the nature of being a eunuch in today's world. Stories that speak to what it means to be a transsexual, a gay man, a woman in a man's world, and so many topics ignored or glossed over in traditional media. The more stories I read, the more I realize how much the archive has to offer. Though I was vocal in advocating their return, I had no idea just how important they truly are.
I've been taking requests, and trying to return those stories most important to people. Almost without exception, those stories have meant something to me, as they have to those who desire their return.
In my imagination, I view the Archive like the library at Alexandria. I am honored to be a part of its restoration. Without the archive, the internet would have lost something very valuable. Your efforts in this have been heroic.

Wow, you are all doing a great job getting this back together. I really enjoyed the stories when I first found the archive and of course the forum posts. I use to hang out in the chatroom once and a while and have fond memories of chatting with Christina. I always looked at the list of new stories and would read any title that caught my interest. I do look forward to the day when the new stories page is ready, but in the mean time with over 3000 titles added just now to the new rebuilt archive I will have plenty to peruse. Oh jeeze. Are you ever opening yourself up on that one.
It has been said a lot, and I mean a LOT of times, that we are not accepting new stories right now. We are trying very hard to get through an enormous backlog of the old stories right now. New story submissions will return when they return. The script for it hasn't even been written yet.
Rubicon String, you need to read around the forums a bit. This has been answered time and time again.
Trust me, you will know when we are taking new submissions. We'll announce it very loudly.

There was one slightly fantastical story that I remember that I can't think of the name of. Involved Castrating the last Minotaur. Started well, but finished like the author had to go do something and had to finish the script before he could go.

Minotaur's Fate I believe was the one you were thinking about.
Yeah, I got the same impression as you did. The author ran away before it was done. Absolutely no spell checking on that one. Took longer to spell check than some of the long series I've had to edit. I'm very serious about that. Almost every third word was spelled wrong. Some I had to read the paragraph over to understand the word in context to figure out what it was. The spell checker actually gave up entirely on some unknown letter combinations.
You'll see Minotaur's Fate return in the next update. It will be MUCH easier to read and understand.
