Share Personal Epiphanies Here

Post by moi621 (imported) »

The thread to share your personal epiphanies. Those moments of clarity over some point.

Had any lately? I just had one.

The problem was how does a Populist fit in a Liberal Left and Conservative Right world. Sometimes Populist views are seen as liberal and sometimes conservative.

Well: 💡 Epiphany

The Liberal Left and the Conservative Right is a Horizontal.

The Populist & Corporationist live by the Vertical.

Percolate up/Trickle down. Who and how y'gonna tax and design an economy favoring. . .

On the liberal left and the conservative right - the corporationist dominate.

Populist have not been heard of for a long time and percolate up is vaguely understood due to the corporationist conspiratorial absence of old fashion American coffee percolators. Percolate up just does not make the "sense" it use to.

To understand the Populist, you must look beyond 2 dimensions.

Moi

I hope that reads as brilliant as I feel about it. :)

The thread is about epiphanies. Got any? Another omnibus thread? Possibly.

Politicians like to keep the world one-dimensional. It simplifies the rhetoric. But really, people are multidimensional, in politics as well as in life in general. In politics, one dimension might be how much the government should be involved in solving problems. On one end of the scale are those who'd like to abolish government disaster relief, the FED, Social Security, public education, etc., and go with pure laissez faire capitalism, and on the other end are those who'd have the government involved in solving every problem that comes up. Orthogonal--or nearly orthogonal--to that dimension is a person's attitude toward government control of people's behavior. On the one end of the scale are those who want strict drug laws, want liquor stores closed on Sunday at least if they can't get prohibition brought back, want the death penalty for homosexuality, view any restriction on police as coddling criminals, etc., and at the other end of the scale are those who favor repeal of all laws regulating recreational drugs, sexual activity, etc., and a ban on capital punishment. Then there's the religious dimension: Some think everyone who doesn't believe they way they do are bound for hell and should have no right to practice whatever religion or lack thereof they might have. At the other end are those who are fed up with religion altogether and think the world would be a better place if there were no religions. You can probably think of other dimensions. Where things get murky is where the politicians try to map these multiple dimensions onto a single line. People are more complicated than that.

Yes, so true. Likewise, "it's amazing all that you can observe by just watchin'."

To think, I have been accused of being a multi-dimensional asshole. I wonder if that is a sort of compliment?

It is amazing how many things in life the 90:10 rule approximates. 90% of the crime is committed by 10% of the population. 90% of the work is done by 10% of the people. And so on.

The other one that has really changed my life is what I learned crammed in a camp with a bunch of Peruvians at 13,000 feet for weeks at a time. My emotions follow my actions. If I wake up and scowl, I will be in a shitty mood. If I wake up and smile at other people and and address them directly and pat them on the back and say 'Buenos dias,' then I get in a better mood.

moi,

That is one dimension, right and left, two dimensions include up and down.

Three dimensions would then be toward you or away from you, right and left and up and down.

The fourth dimension is Time.

The Fifth Dimension is Up Up and Away... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoSocikOpHU)

...don't ever let that balloon burst... ;)

Ho-ho-ho. Good one. But you may be showing your age. I believe that song was five years old when I was born.

An EA personal epiphany. Prior to using Everclear to destroy my balls I was consumed with constant craving to be castrated. Once my blood was free from testosterone, interest in sex, sexual ability, and overwhelming craving to be castrated dissipated. I am surprised that I enjoy having numb small hard dead balls that seem as though they are artificial. Ultimately however I do hope that I will achieve my ultimate goal, castration, but I am no longer consumed with the craving. I am greatly pleased that I am in control of my thoughts and body now. When testosterone controlled me life was horrible. Loss of sexual ability is a small price to pay for the mental and physical peace and tranquility that I now have, and all without drugs. You can never know how testosterone is adversely impacting you until you finally get rid of it. It is one of those things that you just have to experience yourself; no amount of words can convey the comparison of feelings and experiences that one has with and without testosterone. I am up there in years, and it took two years to get to where I now am. My only regret is that I wish I had discovered Everclear injections much earlier in life. They worked for me, but as always, I convey to others to not try this. It is a personal decision and one must be very much driven, and then go very slow and carefully, and even then, risks are present. I am glad I took the risk, and glad I had no bad results, only success.
