chat room

I was in the chatroom today, just hanging around waiting to see if any of my buddies showed up to chat. One of the quest there commented that it was quiet and alllot of us must be in private chats. Markle the moderator was there and made the comment basically saying that if a person is not chatting, they should leave the chat room. I replied that maybe some of us were just hanging out to see if our buddies showed up. Markle made the comment that we should arrange times to meet and not just hang out. And infact, find a chat sight we could meet and talk on. Not hang around in the chat room. Then he pointed out, that if we are inactive long enough, we would be automatically logged out. And if that happened enough, we'd eventually be banned. Really? Is sitting quietly not bothering people a reason to be banned?
I don't see in the chatroom guidelines where is say ''we have to talk''. But to be told ''if we have nothing to add to a conversation, we should get out''? I always think of a chat room kind of like a bar. Lets go see whats going on. If its lively, we join it. Sometimes, if quiet, we wait to see if it livens up or a buddy comes around to talk to. Am i wrong in this idea?
I'm fairly regular in the chat room. Even to the point of being (+) many times. I am even to the point of a little bit of a chatup with RickR and MacWolf on fairly regular basis. I can't say i agree with Markles philosophy on what should be. I feel sometimes that being quietly on the sideline is perfectly decent and fine. And not a ''chat or get out" ideal.
