hormone question

I don't know if anyone can answer this for me but I figured it was worth a shot. I was recently doing some research on suplements and ran across one called

DHEA. Can anyone tell me if taking this supplement will increase the estrogen in a male or not. From what I have read it is supposed to increase production of hormones in your body. One site I was looking at said that it would more than likely increase estrogen levels in the body and really have no effect on the testosterone. If anyone has any information about this please let me know

Its a precursor to both testosterone and estrogen so it could turn into either one as well as many other hormones. In my brief research all the worry is with the risk of testosterone levels being too high in women. Most of the places I visited sounds like they are selling snake-oil that will make you live longer, make you more youthful, lose weight, and treats lupis, cancer, depression, alzheimers, erectile dysfunction, schizophrenia and many many other problems. Same could be said for other popular supplements (like fish oil) but I am still skeptical.

DHEA is legit for testosterone boost effect and the creams will work. My urologist who is old-school recommends it for increasing testosterone levels. As mentioned above, it is a precursor to both estrogen and testosterone. Your testicles will convert it to testosterone if you're an intact male, and your ovaries will covert it to estrogen if you're an intact female. If you're eunuch due to surgical castration, then it might still increase your testosterone a bit due to adrenals (which can produce some) but it probably won't be nearly as effective.

I am on TRT from my doctor. I inject 200mg per week IM. When I first started this my doctor also put me on DHEA 25mg per day to help with the uptake of T. Now my T levels appear in the normal range except for the very end of the week when the shot has worn off. I take my DHEA as directed every day.

Watch your blood pressure, if that is a problem you have. DHEA elevates mine.
