πŸ™„ I have a question I am thinking about go off of HRT all together the last time I tried going off I got so weak my arms and legs felt like lead and I got depressed I know mileage very from each of us but does the weakness eventually go away ? I've been on low HRT for 24 years my endocrinologist put me on 400mg wow that was like going in to puberty all over again I was trying to plug every hole I could... was not good ouch !!!..

"Man those Cows hurt have to go back to sheep" just kidding he he he πŸ‘πŸ‘‹

so I cut it back to just 200mg just would to stop it all together and get past all the bad side effects. Thanks

From personal experience I think one needs to "ween" themselves off of testosterone. A S L O W reduction. Any rapid changes to the body's hormonal system are going to be a slap in the head to other hormones and then everything goes willy wonka. A slow reduction, very slow, one week at a time, combined with improved vitamins and minerals and exercise might help. Might. You just won't know until you give it a go.

Perhaps people are both similar and different.

At the end of work one day, I got my "radical vasectomy."

Instant testosterone production drop.

The hormone-driven need to ejaculate faded within a month.

Nothing else worth noting happened.

Oh, unless no more babies being made by my sperm was worth noting...

No hot flashes, no loss of stamina, no loss of endurance, no depression from testosterone reduction, no impotence.

I suppose the way it went with me is plausibly quite rare.

Holy hell, is that a real cat???

I have to agree, wean off of it.

HRT for me was no fun at all, the 1 time I did it.

Hey Dan, please don't let your previous bad experience put you off. I tried giving up HRT twice in the last few years and both times weakness and tiredness scared me back on to HRT. In mid-April this year I had a dose of HRT and realised it was the tenth anniversary of my bilateral orchiectomy. I was annoyed with myself for still having HRT and therefore, to my mind, not being a true eunuch. (Others may have different ideas about what constitutes a true eunuch but I'm just speaking for myself here). Anyway, I made up my mind I'd just had my final dose, and this time I would be pro-active in quitting T and not just wait for symptoms of hypogonadism to mess up my life.

I decided I would no longer regard the first two attempts to quit T as failures, but rather as exploratory skirmishes in preparation for a battle I intend to win. I've adjusted my lifestyle so that I get more exercise - regular brisk walks after work and walking to shops rather than using public transport. I don't have the funds or the inclination for gym membership, but I do push-ups and sit-ups at home each day. I'm hoping all this will maintain muscle tone and thus ward off fatigue. I've changed my diet so I have more fresh veg and salads, a lot less fat, and zero junk food. I want to boost my energy but stay skinny! I take a calcium supplement (Calcichew) against osteoporosis. Curiously, I haven't been bothered by depression in the ten years since castration, but I was often afflicted by it before and had to take medication. If I get depressed having quit HRT I won't hesitate to see my Doctor for some medication.

I note you didn't mention hot flashes, so maybe they didn't bother you. I've only had a couple myself and they weren't too dreadful, contrary to what I'd expected. We're all different, and what causes difficulty to one person seems not to be a hassle for someone else.

I see you sign off with Eunuch for 24 years and Loving it which shows you have a positive attitude and I reckon you could successfully quit HRT.

Take it slowly and enjoy the ride!

I wish you well.

Oh Yeah!! Hot Flashes I get them bad I figured that is part of the course maybe ill ask doc. For some Testosterone cream instead of the injections or something and wean off of it that way. I went for a bone scan ( Doc thought I was crazy πŸ˜„) but it came back with Osteopenia so I have to be careful funny doc said Wow I can't give you the normal treatment thinking EstrogenΒ’s but I already have Gynecomastia (tits) estrogen would be welcome but I did not say anything πŸ”¨
