I started taking 50 mg of Androcur daily in Jan. and at my 3 month check up T levels were still near 300 ng/dl. I have upped my dosage by taking 100mg (50mg 2x daily) Siterone since May. I had blood work done and reviewed with Doc in July. All tests show everything is working ok with my body at this stage in my Chemical Castration. T levels had only dropped to 230 ng/dl, not nearly as low as I was hoping after doubling my dosage. I was still having problems with a high libido and asked Doc about adding Tamoxifen. He agreed and I started taking 20 mg daily. After 30 days, no signs of change at all. Libido still very high and I always seemed tired. I stopped the Tamoxifen 2 weeks ago and things seem to be returning to my new normal. I do have less energy than before I started Chem Cast, but I am not having any other real side effects.
I am a bit confused as to why my T levels are just below normal range with the dosage I am taking but I guess I am just one of the lucky ones who has strong Testes.
I have been reading about how meds are processed by the body and it seems that any meds taken orally must pass through the liver before they are absorbed into the blood stream and that if they can be absorbed directly into the blood stream they do a much better job. I just yesterday started taking my Siterone sub-lingualy by letting it dissolve under my tongue. Is anyone else using this method to take their Anti-Androgens with good results?
So far I am very pleased with the results of taking Siterone and how it has improved my relationship with my wife. She said she is very happy with the fact that she does not feel pressured anymore to have sex and that has made her more caring in bed. Next Appointment with Doc in Feb 2012. Hoping things continue to go well and maybe even get better as the meds work on my body.
