I been around here a bit above 2 weeks.

i am 29 years old. light blond blue eyes.

I work as a part time military officer. and part time as securety leader in my home town in norway.

I also run some lumber on my small farm.

All this in norway.

i allways been a super active, social creatur. doing sports and being a part of my land and comuneties interessts.

I came here because from age 7-9 some where, My doc told my mother that i didnt decend(my nutts didnt fall into the ballsack as they shall).

So whent tru surgery. 2 different times before i was 17.

prob is that the cord is so tight, that it just draged them back inside my body.

I never been paying much atention to it, exepth when i am at the doctor and he test if all is well. i was told at age 17 that it may be a future prob with testicles inside my body. because of temprature and so on.

But allways just let it slide.

But this year, there was a changes in the numbers(dont quit know what) that changest a lot. i was told that the risk of geting canser in my testicles have bwcome way larger. and will climb every year from now on.

and that i more or less are forced to get a castration with in the next 4 years to be able to live a more or less normal life.

Thats have great impact on my life. from being the leader, the strong soldier. to becoming something different, have made me take a long hard look at my self, my life and what i whant in life.

This isnt a complaint, or disregard on what others belive or think. But for me, my one ego if you like. It changes a lot.

So here i have made friends. I have made contacts, i even made a few people angry(i am surten)

it has come to the point that i just whant it done(but long waiting list)

i whant to leave my job(have told them so leave in end of this year)

I whant to do something for my self. Something that make me one pice agein. Changes my hole agenda.

And i trully belive i will sucseed in that task here.

Thats a litle about my self and my goals/life.

Thank you for your insightful report on you condition and what you re facing. It is a radical change for men to lose their testicles unless they come to grips with it in their mind. I would suggest that, if you haven't already done so, put your name on the list. Then you will know it is going to happen.

I will say that in regards to being a leader, the strong soldier, does not end with the loss of your testes. Those two things are what you are now, and will continue to be even after the e to change but what you are will basically stay the same.surgery. Yes, some things will have to be changes (modified) but it does not mean you cannot be those things again, yet, still.

Facing the loss is a time to evaluate your life and goals. Just don't let losing your testes defeat you. Just look at what you want to do and begin working toward those goals.

Am not sure if you will be able to get hormone replacement (testosterone) but that will help you keep your strength and muscles. Something to think about anyway.

There's no reason for you to change your outward way of living.

If you lose your testicles to cancer prevention, you can always replace the hormones and that will maintain your outward appearance and behavior.

What you have to get used to is knowing that you gave up what seems to every man to be the absolute symbol of his manhood (testicles) for living longer. "real" men and leaders and active, hard working men can do something that is good for them and not change their attitudes.

Do i trully belive i am geting ready for it. Just whant to use a bit more time to make surten that i am on the right path.

And hormones i have been told i can get if i like to.

I don't have a congenital condition like you, but I did have case of a bad fever when I was twelve, that destroyed my chances of ever getting a woman pregnant.

Like you, my fertility was decided long before I went through puberty. Learning about that was difficult. I imagine because of the position of your testes and the heat from your body, you have much the same problem as I have. You've already said the surgeries didn't help because of the tight cord. This means the chances of you fathering a child were gone before you ever knew what that meant. For me, this was the hardest part of learning what was wrong with me.

The loss of your testicles is only the loss of a hormone factory in your body. Nothing more. You can take hormones, and live your life exactly the way you have been. Your doctor may even be able to insert a new pair of false testicles, that wouldn't be drawn up into your body like your natural ones. They would look exactly the same as any "normal" man's. You wouldn't look "damaged".

You will have to decide what you are most afraid of. Are you afraid that things will change for you? or are you afraid that things won't change?

Some things that will change;

You will have to take hormones. (think of it like taking vitamins.)

You won't hurt if you are kicked in the groin.

You'll have to take a week or so off work to recuperate and heal.

You'll no longer have a heightened risk of cancer.

You'll probably live longer and healthier.

Some things that won't change;

You'll still be as sexual as you are now.

You'll still be the strong soldier and leader.

You'll still be loved by all the people who love you.

You'll still be you.

And finally,

You still won't be able to father children. (It isn't something that has changed, but it is very hard to deal with.)

My heart goes out to you. I understand what learning you are sterile can mean. It can change the image you've had of yourself. The story you've told yourself is not the real story. The future you imagined will not be the one that comes to pass. It's not easy. I know this.

In dealing with my sterility, I found what helped me was to decide I could be more than just my collection of genes. I could contribute to the world and leave an impression. In the end, it is what impact we make on the world, not what genes we spread. Is an adopted child any less the product of their upbringing than a natural child? Is what you teach them any less important to the world?

It is not a set of testicles that make you a man.

Your actions and decisions make you a man. What you do with your life, and the people you influence make you a man. You can be more than a couple of lumps between your legs. You've been more than that your whole life. Don't let a minor surgery change who you've always been. The only real change that can happen will be in your own mind. You can decide to be more.

You can decide to not let it change you.
