I am seeing a Urologist next month in my area but I don't know what he will charge for the Orchiectomy. Where is Dr. Arkoff located? Didn't he star with Flash Gordon about sixty years ago?

This doctor is also advertising it as an MTF procedure. What is the success rate of non-TG (MTE if you will) males in obtaining castration from this doctor?

This website has some bad grammar and duplication of services...It looks fairly amateur. Where is Dr. Arnkoff located? Jackie

I have heard about Dr arnkoff awhile back, and finally got a hold of a few numbers when o finally reached his personal cell phone,I'm not gonna lie,he didn't really sound too professional over the phone, maybe I was expecting somthing else?lol, not sure,I asked a few questions about the procedure,he said it takes about 30 min too an hour, and that of I wanted too I can fly back home the same day after the procedure,REALLY?,the whole conversation sounded really underground/black market.I called a friend of mine who knew a girl that had the procedure done back in Dec 2010,so I got her number and talked too her...apparently he is a legit Dr,and performs this procedure on many girls (transexuals)so that made me feel a little bit more at ease, when I told her about my discussion with the Dr and how it felt kinda "black market" lol,she told me it was because he's hush hush about performing this kind of procedure, and that he doesn't really advertise it...I guess now he does? This is somthing I really want too get done asap,I just want too make sure I see a good Dr that knows what he's doing,if anyone else has any other kind of info on Dr arnkoff please share, and I hope this helps someone out there that might have any questions

The benefit of being able to get skilled and fully competent care is lowered probability of complications requiring serious aftercare. I was able, though not without formidable challenge, to get an orchiectomy in 1986 which it seems to me is substantially the same procedure used by Dr. Arnkoff, only, back then, my "radical vasectomy" doctor insisted on my agreeing to never identify him.
That said, I was given a prescription for oral antibiotic infection control, and I used, as an additional precaution, an over-the-counter topical antibiotic on my own initiative, I believe the sutures were chromic catgut, which disappeared in a timely way, and I did not need any surgical aftercare from any physician. Orchiectomy after work one day, local anesthesia, chromic catgut, no complications worth noting, and back at work, fully functional the next day.
I would not expect an orchiectomy by Dr. Arnkoff to be all that different than what I got, nor would I expect the outcome to be all that different. I was very careful about post-surgical infection control. However, the post-orchiectomy time was, for me, much less eventful than I had allowed it might be.
I would, it seems to me, have had no difficulty with getting on an airplane to go home ten minutes after the orchiectomy was finished. I have a hunch that is not always how it goes for everyone, every time.
Corrected for inflation, my orchiectomy cost was comparable to what it seems to me Dr. Arnkoff charges.
Life gets interesting at times. I have an appointment for outpatient surgery this afternoon, for a minor nuisance that may be related to my having familial adenomatous polyposis, the surgery is for a minor nuisance now that may not stay a minor nuisance without yet another meeting with a scalpel.
I guess my life takes upon itself the form it finds possible.
It seems that Dr. Arnkoff got his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School, in 1971, and has been doing urology for 40 years. In a quick Internet check, I was unable to find any hint of his not giving proper medical care. I also found mention of another Marc Arnkoff, M.D. urologist who completed his M.D. in 1941.
These days, I seem to have found a persuasive argument with physicians who seem wont to question my orchiectomy. The argument? My brother died, I am alive.
Did I know that my brother already had terminal cancer when I got the orchiectomy? No.
The best guess a person can make just might be the best guess a person can make. And better than the best a person can do may simply not be possible.
Perhaps a really good physician and surgeon is really good partly because of not having wasted time learning how to construct elegant web sites? Perhaps an amateur-looking web site is a good hint of physician competence.
