Chemical castration in UK medical soap

I wanted to post this last week, but the forum was down then.

The weekend before last, the UK medical drama Casualty featured a man who was a sex offender, and had been attacked by the father of one of his victims. He asked one of the doctors (Adam Trueman) to help him before he attacked someone else, and Trueman ordered a large quantity of some un-named drug, although the description of it sounded like Cyproterone. He gave him a tablet with a cup of water, then handed over a large carrier bag full of it and told him to come back to him if he needed to stock up again. He also told him to expect breast development and hot flushes, IIRC, along with the decreased sex drive.

Later on, another (junior) doctor asked Trueman if he had done a liver function test, but he replied that there wasn't time -- the guy wanted to stop and might have attacked someone else, etc. I know this is hardly likely, but just wondered what anyone else thinks of it.

What drug do they give to sex offenders in the UK for this purpose? I recall someone on here saying he had been prescribed cyproterone because he couldn't control his desire to attack women and wanted to stay out of trouble and curb his behaviour. Do they never use DP?
