Self-explanatory question...

I just posted my first story about 1 day before the server crash, and was just wondering if this part of the site will be coming back any time soon.

There is no ETA for the fiction archive. Personally, I would not expect to see it return within the near future.

At the very least, every story will likely have to be combed through on an individual basis. Considering there are over 10,000 stories in the archive, doing this by hand will take awhile.

Seriously, I would like to volunteer to help. I am an "I.T. retard," that is to say, I don't know much about computers or the internet, but I do know how to reed and rite good! If you need someone to read, review, edit and fix the wordsmithing on stories, PLEASE send me a few, I will go through them and send them back to you corrected to the best of my ability as quickly as I can.... I know, there are "10,000 stories" so I cannot alone do it in a day, but I am sure many here would be happy to help restore this valuable fiction archive. PLEASE, tell me what I can do to help.

Perhaps it would be best to trash the old archive and start a new one, possibly using new story submission software. If such software would permit direct comments on the stories, that would be good. I'm guessing there will be no more minor stories.

What are you looking for in a story? Is it content or format. Or must both content and format be considered?

I've revamped my website by hand more than a few times. I think I understand the mechanics of that. I've also handled the review and summation of 240 interviews with 48 questions on each. So I know how to do stuff like that.

I don't know what you want to do with the stories or even how you wan them to appear.

For the time being the Fiction Archive is going to stay down. There is going to be a lot of back room discussions about what to do with them. Talula has been working on a new submission and forum for some time. How that would work in rrelation to the old Archive is unclear. One thing that is certain, we are not going to trash the stories. The question is what to do with them. That is to be determined. Most likely, the issue will be discussed and decided at the Midwest MoM in mid-August, particularly since most of the board lives here.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to support combing through these all. I'd be happy to help

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. I'd be happy to read through and tag a bunch of stories or whatever is needed.
