Eunuch Archives apparently is being blocked in the Kansas City Area by Comcast.

Post by doakman2007 (imported) »

I live in the Kansas City, MO Metro area and apparently Comcast has begun blocking Eunuch Archives. If I type in www.eunuch.org, I no longer connect to Eunuch Archives. I get a Google link indicating that Google cannot find the page I am looking for. If I type in your IP (184.80.18.34), I am able to connect to Eunuch Archives. Does this sound reasonable? If so, is there any way that the blocking can be proven and complaints registered? I have been a fan of Eunuch Archives for quite a while now. I enjoy reading the stories. When I click on the Fiction Archives link, again I am sent to the Google link indicating that Eunuch Archives cannot be found. Is there an IP address for Fiction Archives? Any assistance you can provide in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

It has more of an explanation.

Fiction archive address is the same.

As for the blocking - it looks like a more global DNS issue.

At least in Russia, on two different providers, eunuch.org does not resolv, to it's IP.

Whatever the problem is, it's not just your area and it's not just Comcast.

There is currently a DNS issue caused by the domain registrar. The EA staff are working to get the proper DNS address restored. In the meantime, add a line to your 'hosts' file:

Linux: /etc/hosts

Windoze: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

184.80.18.34 eunuch.org www.eunuch.org (http://www.eunuch.org)

and the proper DNS resolution will occur locally on your own computer.

Google has nothing to do with it, it is just your browser that gives you a hint. Try C:\nslookup www.eunuch.org If this doesn´t show 184.80.18.34 then the hostname couldn´t be resolved.
