Oops, mistake

Post by baldwin92 (imported) »

Sorry, I was just re reading my own story "I DIDN'T MEAN FOR THIS TO HAPPEN" and noticed a key misspelling. In the third paragraph from the end, it should read: "We are sorry we could not save much of your genitals." Not "gentiles"My apologies to all the gentiles out there.

Apology accepted. Isn't it a bugger when this happens?

Having submitted a few stories myself, I've noticed that, no matter how many times I've read and edited the story, I don't notice some errors until I've already hit the submit button. After it's too late to change it, the mistake is all to obvious.

you cannot proof your own work. You will read over the same mistake again and again.

I've take to reading my short stories out loud as one of the last edits. It seems to help.

Also, you can let the story sit for a few days and then change the font to look drastically different -- like times new roman on the original to courier as the second.

Although, a second set of eyes always sees more wrong than the writer's eyes ever see.
