An issue has been made between US = U.S., and foreigners.

I do believe we know who US are and who THEY are.
I am an US. Born in Flushing, N.Y. No birth certificate confusion.
Third generation assimilationist Jewish family as all four Jewish Grand Parents left religion.
Father came over on the boat in 1935 when distant relatives looked him up in Paris and advised him it was a good idea to come to America. He was a Francophil born in Petrograd.
Mother was born here as her parents who met here both left Russia at the Czar Nicky2 invitation to Jews to leave Czarland, in 1905.
I am an US.
Anyone got a problem with that?
Moi
BTW I do my best to keep foreigners active on Board via e-mail and PM's.
I do so appreciate our foreigners. C'mon foreigners, what is your perception?
Thanks for tolerating US.
Remember, we can't all be an US or there would be no Them, Foreigners.

ACTUALLY, the only non-foreigners in the U.S. are the Native Americans. At least for the last 10,000 to 25,000 years.

Having successfully abused the Irish as Orangemen my ancestors came here and robbed the Indians.
What else are indigenous populations for?

That makes Sweetpickle an US.
BTW, let's face it, the American Indian is a Them.
Custer was US.
Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Geronimo, and other greats, one of my favorites - Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce are Them.
Got a problem with that, take it to a new thread, please.
I use to point out to my wife with movies like Windtalkers and Tuskagee Airman, and Mexican American medal of honor winners, that no matter how badly treated a section of US may have been, at times of war they considered themselves as US and fought bravely against Them.
Conclusion: US is a state of mind. The Windtalkers believed themselves American. No longer, separate as Indians. In their minds.
Haven't seen any of Them out themselves and their perception here. <lol>
I know we have some stealth Canadians around. That is how Canadians are.
Pass as US as They can.

Having dual-citizenship, I'm both an US and a THEM.
The biggest issue I have with my fellow (US) countrymen is that they don't seem to realize that the US is *not* the entire world.

Somehow, I think it may be the other way around. I know there are a lot of Americans trying to pass themselves off as Canadian as they tour Europe, ruining our good name. Heheheh.
I know there's nothing that could get me to call myself an American. And probably close to nothing that could get me to emigrate to the US.
I. Am. Canadian.
And damn proud of it.
(Ask any Canadian. We are the best country on the planet, we're just too modest to brag about it. Wouldn't want to embarrass the lesser countries...)

I wonder why is this provocation? I mean why US and Foreigners? If you look from that perspective then it occurs as;
China and Foreigners
India and Foreigners
Spain and Foreigners
Etc etc etc and Foreigners
After all I guess we are all humans with different beliefs, values, pros and cons...
It can always be dangerous seeing yourself at the center of the world...
