Terrorism
Where to put it. Political or something Deep and Dark?
Today's news had two stories of note.
1) The change from the current five color coded security alert system to, whatever
and
2) "Deported from Canada to Tunisia three years ago, Muslim cleric Said Jaziri was found hiding in the trunk of a BMW near the Mexican border.
Said Jaziri, the former imam of a Muslim congregation in Montreal, was hidden in a car driven by a San Diego-area man who was pulled over by U.S. Border Patrol agents near an Indian casino east of San Diego on Jan. 11. Jaziri had allegedly paid a Tijuana-based smuggling group $5,000 to get him across the border near Tecate, saying he wanted to be taken to a "safe place anywhere in the U.S."

BTW 5K is a pretty standard coyote price for being taken across the border, solo.

...[/I]
I was working with that color code system and since I was part of the Safety and Environment group, I can tell you that it was a royal pain in the ass. Just the most idiotic set of conditions that ever existed.
The way Cheney and Bush and Rove used it, if they declared part of California on yellow alert, the entire country went on yellow alert.
RED alert was "imminent danger" and that meant an actual attack. Since Cheney Bush and Rove believed they were always under attack, RED made sense to them.
But in reality, since we've seen the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber and the printer cartridge bombs and all those sorts of things, TO say an agency was in "imminent danger" was too much. It went to far.
So in reality the highest level was yellow.
I can go on about how stupid things happened at each level but I'd like to sleep tonight.

To be honest, I never paid much attention to it. It always sounded like a bushism to me.
I agree with A-1, I understand Guantanamo is a lovely place to be this time of year.

I thought they closed down Guantanamo to make it the future site of the George W. Bush Presidental Library. Plenty of room for his empty Bourbon Bottles, models of his dry wells, and both books.

Is it true that Bush didn't know the difference between a surf board and a water board?
Inquiring minds want to know...
...he just thought that the "boarding" proclamation was just providing them with a little recreation...

What is Terrorism?
It seems to include their bombs but never our bombs as in
V2 rockets vs Fire Bombing Dresden.
I was thinking it through and I thought of "targeting innocents" as a definition and next came
V2 vs Dresden.
Would someone please and seriously enlighten me,
What is terrorism?

Thank You

Terrorism is like propaganda if they do it to us its terrorism if we do it to them its self defense. In propaganda they tell lies were as we always tell the truth, this is a lot like Republicans and Democrats.
Hope that clears it up for you.

Well, let's see...
Dresden, Terrorism? No.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Terrorism? No.
Murdering 6 million Jews in Concentration Camps, Terrorism? ah.. YES!
Attacking Pear Harbor while your diplomats negotiated peace, terrorism? YES!
...remember, in a WAR, very few can safely be considered "innocents". (

SO,...do you "get it" yet, or are you just being a SLOW LEARNER to make some sort of moral point of pacifism?
...does the name Neville Chamberlin ring a bell?
...oh spare us with your ancient jollies...
