I liked it too. I would have liked it more if some, or all, of the boys had been partially or fully penectomized instead of being castrated. I just like penectomy stories.

If the boys had put their penises into the orbs and the orbs had painlessly removed 25 or 33 percent of their penises, they could have donated several times. Maybe the Bajoran boys would be proud to have donated and the more times they donated, the more proud they would be. They might look forward to each festival and hope they would be picked.
