I like the way she seems so happy to recommend it, seems to have a smirk and gleam in her eye during the procedure, and her pleasure with the results ("it's like they were never there"). The assistant is only shown in the follow up clip. The vet seems pretty good at the operation too.

What is interesting to me is that for animals castration has a drastic effect on libido, whereas it is not quite as complete a change for many humans. I'm not sure if the physiology is that different (e.g. adrenals supplying hormones) or because so much of human sexuality includes what is "in the head". Or maybe our longer lifespans mean that our habits are stronger.

I wonder if other female vets feel the same and I suppose more than one has thought about castrating a human male to suppress their sexual appetite. However, I have to disagree with your statement spitdick - "

I know that after I was castrated my libido did a complete nose dive. I had no thoughts about sex, could not get an erection after a few days and didn't really care too. Had I not also been severely depressed from the lack of testosterone, I wouldn't have even gone on a low dose HRT regimen. So I think castration does greatly and quickly reduce ones libido. It did in my case.

I wish human castration could be discussed this openly and frankly, and that the positives could be appreciated as they are with animal castration. I know it's different, and that most men would still never be castrated (and they shouldn't be), but if people could just be a bit more open-minded about things...

I believe that castration should be an option for human males who want it or ask for it. Sure there should be counseling about the after effects, physical changes, etc., but let's say a man's overbearing sexual libido is out of control, he's tried chemical castration, and likes the effect. If he then chooses to be physically castrated with the removal of his testicles, then that should be allowed. Make it a process, have him sign a no sue clause if he changes his mind later, but allow him to make the decision. It would prevent some men from using the dangerous methods of castration that are discussed here: elastration banding, alcohol injections into the testicles, burdizzo's, etc.
