Ken_SD was kind enough to send me several DVD's of the old western series, Have Gun Will Travel.
I inserted one of the DVD's into my computer but it wouldn't play and no disc icon appeared on my desktop.
Apparently, this computer didn't come with a movie player.
Which one do I look for to download.
My computer is a Mac OS X 10.4.11

Go here:
http://download.cnet.com/windows/
Make sure you click the MAC box and search for DVD players.
Much of the stuff there is free and spyware free too.

The best all-around video player I know is VLC. They have a free Mac version which you can download from

Dear Mac
You can watch many movies and TV shows (including all of "Have Gun Will Travel") on hulu.com. They are streamed live for free.
Some of the harsher content requires registration saying you are over 18 (but you can always lie).

The next question is, is the disk drive a CD drive, or a DVD drive? There is a difference.

Or a blu ray drive. All those discs look alike.

I've tried both of Paolo's ideas to no avail. I assume the problem is with my computer.

You're not putting the DVD's in upside-down are you?
