Re: Atlanta MD
Gee, still using ice 19 days later? There is no therapeutic effect from icing that many days longer. Anything that could have been done to mitigate swelling should have been done immediately after the surgery. This many days later icing will be about as effective as using a blowtorch to relive the swelling, and if the doctor is any good there should not be so much swelling from orchiectomy that you feel the need to use ice 3-weeks later.
And... 19 days later? Swelling is still that severe? And people say cutters are dangerous. At least when I went that route I was done with the icing and swelling in a few days and not 3-weeks later. *ugh*

Re: Atlanta MD
This doctor seems to be special, sort of like Kimmel. Kimmel treated me with great respect and kindness, and this doctor seems to be the same.
I had swelling after Kimmel removed my last remaining testicle and used ice for a couple of days. Also soaked in epson salt water as he directed, but I healed up quickly and was pain free after a few days. I have a little bit of my scrotum remaining and the cord ends are still there. If I pinch them, I get a shot of pain and it can stir up a rogue erection on occasion. Personally I'd like the cords removed completely.

Re: Atlanta MD
Dr. M in Atlanta castrated me in the spring, and I concur completely with the information posted by Jennalee at the listed web site in the first posting. There are some different results in my case and I will send then to Jennalee to add to the excellent web site information. This will be a central place for others with comments on their experience with Dr. M (of Dr. Fara as I call him).

Re: Atlanta MD
this seems to be good news ( although a bit more costly than i'd like ). I just keep kicking myself for not taking advantage of dr. kimmels services before it was too late ( i live 1 hr from center city philadelphia ). Has anyone confirmed the absence of the 2 letter requirement?

Re: Atlanta MD
Thanks big time sduych_2000!
I would had never found a doctor who would do elective orchiectomies without all the hassles.
Atlanta sound like a better and more viable option than flying half way around the world to Thailand.
Does anyone knows if the good doctor accepts credit cards and will he perform a scrotatectomy to go along with the orchiectomy?-WDW
