Have any of you had any luck with the personals? I'm looking for advice on how best to meet others in my area. What I'd really like is a couple peers who also think "outside the box" who I could hang out with over coffee... But I haven't had much luck in the personals section here... too hard to search other locals, or to know if they've even signed in sometime over the last two years.

Does anyone have any advice?

It may be that this is such a small, select group of people you may not find them in New York all that often. Though I know of a few eunuchs in that area, and no I won't reveal who they are.

It's difficult to find what you're looking for when the haystack you're looking through only has a few strands of straw. I'm sympathetic as I looked for all this myself once, and never found it.

You could try attending one of the various functions that pop-up each year, but you may need to travel.

There have been gatherings, both organized and informal, of Archive members. The largest gathering is the annual MoM, which is held near Minnepolis in August. There have been formal gatherings on the West Coast (Portland, San Diego, San Francisco) and on the East Coast (Washington, DC). Bobbie, Tome, Oneballboi, and occasional others have breakfast together on a frequent basis. Jemagirl and I meet for dinner occasionally. Others get together on an informal basis (including Riverwind popping next door to see Talula and Gem).

Probably your best bet is to try to attend one of the regular MoM events, after which you'll be better able to plan a local gathering in your immediate area.

There are certainly enough members in the greater NYC area to have a sizable gathering. What's needed is someone to do the organizational work.
