I'm a transsexual woman and sadly sexual reassignment surgery is not a viable option for me. I've come to terms with that fact over a couple years, however this has led me to consider what other alternatives there are.
I'm not a stranger to this idea and have thought about ways to eradicate the problem many times in the past as many ts people do. I even made an attempt at home surgery many years ago. When it became crucial I aborted the mission upon discovering how painful and sick it made me feel. I've been interested in other cultures and their ideas and customs regarding transsexuals and know a little about the hijra and their eunuch operations. I talked to one girl who even showed me her makeshift Barbie doll anatomy. She was really fascinating too. They are left horribly scarred but I wasn't opposed to the idea and I think an ancient culture accepting these people exist, lest offering even half a solution, is highly unusual. It has made me aware that I can always eunuchify myself if SRS did not pan out. Finally my aunt raises lambs and calves and I learned of castration at a young age which actually inspired my earlier failed attempt. I've even read this very forum at times in the past.
So basically, I am here with the goal of becoming informed about my options. It's truly amazing that a service like this site exists and I appreciate the people who have made this information available and kept it afloat.
