One nut gone, the other maybe soon

Post by Wrangler1 (imported) »

I'm looking for a bit of advice and hoping some of you guys can give me your opinion. A few months ago I had an inguinal hernia surgery, the hernia had pulled down on my right testicle to the point the surgeon had to remove the testicle. Problem is though I have suffered for years with pain in my left testicle and my urologist said he could remove it or I could continue taking pain killers for it. I don't like the idea of taking pain killers the rest of my life and the thought of having that testicle removed doesn't bother me. I am a masculine gay male and very much a top. Just because I wouldn't have testicles doesn't change that.

The surgeon said if he removed the testicle I would have to take something like Androgel the rest of my life and advised that without the proper testoterone level there could be depression, mood swings, etc. That is what concerns me. I take the painkillers and they help to a certain extent but I'm still in pain. On the other hand, if I get the testicle removed I have to take hormone replacement and the other issues involved mentally.

Can someone give me some advice here? I'm tired of feeling like I've been hit in the nuts, I want the pain to go away, but I don't want to have to deal with depression, mood swings etc. I'm really confused here. I know many of the guys on this site get it done for the eunuch calm, but that's not what I want. Yeah, I like being horney and my partner wants his top to remain a horney top! Thanks for reading and hope someone can give me some good advice.

If you take testostrone replacement therapy, after losing both testicles, nothing should change. You may even feel better. but you will need it the rest of your life. also it is very expensive if your insurance doesn't cover it.

If you are completely o.k. with the idea of losing your other testicle to solve the pain issue, I know that you can still be completely sexually active with little change in the functioning of your penis. The big issue is the form of testosterone you take. I've used both Androgel and the weekly/bi-weekly injections and here is my take on that:

First - the androgel will provide a more consistent and smooth dose of testosterone over time. You'd likely want about 7.5g dose per day. You have to apply it immediately after you shower. I experienced fewer mood swings with androgel, but they did happen occasionally, but I was usually able to catch that I was having them before it become problematic. The disadvantage to the gel is that you cannot get wet or sweat for about 4-5 hours after you apply it if you want the full dose. So you have to plan heavy physical activities or swimming/hot tubbing taking that into account. It removed some spontaneity from life. The pores in your skin where you apply the gel have some tendency to be plugged by the gel. so you do develop blemishes, but I find the same things with the shots.

The shots are a once a week event for me, but you do get the weekly stab in the ass to do it. This method is less even over the week as you have a high amount of testosterone in your system a few hours after the injection which gradually leaves your system by the time you take your next dose. I do experience MORE mood swings with this, and find myself easily agitated. I switched to this method when I was remodeling a house and was sweating a lot. I do desire to go back on the gel one day. This does allow for more spontaneous activity involving water or sweating.

Feel free to get in touch with me by PM is you have specific questions.

Testosterone therapy is a marvelous thing. Others i have spoken to agree that in many ways its better than the natural stuff. You need to get the dosing right for YOUR needs, but once you do , you'll function way better than you did with balls.

I am coming up on two years since the useless things were removed, and have used virtually every form of HRT that is available. I think that Androgel is the most effective, and creates the most even mood of all other options.

It is kind of a pain , but truthfully , I shower in the early AM, apply the gel, and by the time my day has me sweating profusely , or getting wet , i have absorbed all that I need. I even occasionally skip a day , with no adverse affects.

As to being a top, even with years of HRT, while I still have my rudimentary balls, I had little interest in being a top. Since getting them removed , and on the proper doseage of Testosterone, I am now interested in topping all the time. Your Partner should be completely satisfied with you sexually after its done.

I have been castrated and take a minimal amout of TRT gel or creme. I like these products because I can control the final amount of testosterone I get. Gels like Androgel and Testim are low dosage (1%) products and in an alcohol base and intended to go on shoulders and upper arms. I have played with Andromen Forte (5%) Both these cremes are in a water base and can be applied to the skin on the scrotum which is the best place on the body to absorb testosterone. and a 5% Testosterone Creme For Men from American Nutrition. Of course, if you are a masochist, applying the gels to the scrotum will work and heats it up nicely! The prescription product are expensive if you don't have insurance coverage for them and the cremes are cheap in comparison. Andromen is an Australian product so you need a prescription for it in Australia but not here in the US if you order it from them. I've had fun playing around with these to get the proper dose for ME. I've certainly learned that testosterone affects far more than just your sex drive as you already know. But depression was never one of the things I suffered from.

And if you don't like the prospects of having a shrivled up scrotum artificial ones can be inserted. I would choose the large completely round ones, not the oblong ones. Round ones are always correctly positioned. Oblong ones can get aligned oddly. The bigger the better.

i've had both of mine removed and had prosthetic ones inserted - no one knows they're false unless i choose to tell them. i'm on tostran gel - it comes in a pump dispenser and so i can regulate the amount i need myself - i feel it's a state of mind as to how you may feel after the removal of your existing testicle - to be honest it hasn't made that much difference to me at all
