Hi Guys,
Im not sure if you are experiencing serious weather changes in US but from where I write (Istanbul- Turkey), we are experiencing the hottest summer ever, the degrees are aroun 40 which is very uncommon in Istanbul plus not only us but our northern neighbour Russia is experiencing the same Moscow reaching to record breaking degrees
I really begin to wonder how the future will come or if we ever be able to see the future coming...
Istanbul is now turned out to be like Singapore with incredible humidity some short but intense rains and again record breaking degrees
Very strange...
Cheers from old Istanbul the new Singapour

The weather here (St.Petersburg, Russia) was also very hot, when normal summer rarely goes higher than 26-28 C, we had up to 36C.
It felt like sauna at work... No, more like russian banya, very humid.
And this is not the only weather change... We had tornado (small) in St.Petersburg's suburb... That is really unusual.
Hurricane some 60km to the north from Petersburg.

Lots of forest fires in central Russia (look for the recent photoes from Moscow).

Maybe Siberia can be a heaven at this time of the year
Or if you have a chance for a holiday travellin via train Trans Siberian can be a good option in a country as big as the world itself

Here in the north central US its also been a hot and wet summer, its more humid then normal and has rained a lot, to almost daily, the weather is more like the monsoons of Thailand then what we normally have.
BUT ITS NOT GLOBAL WARMING, that is a myth.

I've said this too many times before.
In the late 1990's, I saw what the long-term weather forecasting models did with increasing temperatures. This wasn't the disasterous global temperatures predicted by global warming models but the more sensible predicitions that farmers and industries use for two and three year weather trends.
With an increase of average temperatures (that is the high in the day and the low in the night) the wet areas got wetter and the dry areas got dryer and storm systems got stronger.
That is exactly what we are seeing -- longer duration hot spells, more severe rains and wet weather.
And yet, faced with the facts of nature before our eyes, we look in puzzled confoundment and ask What do we do?
Plan for higher temperatures and more flooding and all that or suffer the consequences.

Humidity here in Istanbul was between 71-90% as of today (06 Aug 10) it was 33 degrees but with humidity that high we felt it around 42-43 degrees which was very unusual
In fact I was expecting a bit cooler summer due to the unspellable Icelandic Volcano Ashes... I thought at upper atmoshperic levels they can prevent/block the reach of sunlite but it did not had any impact other than flight cancellations

BTW when Hakan says "42-43 degrees" He's speaking in centigrade degrees.
That's 107-110 degrees F.
Kinda like Las Vegas and the desert southwest this time of year.

It's been rather cool here, only in the 70's or low 80's most of July, but the pool remains around 88 because of the sun and the cover.

I will agree that my part of the Midwest USA is seeing much stronger storms with more rain, more often, harder thunder, a hell of a lot more lightning, etc. We are having very humid and very hot (95F+) plus humidity, warmer nights, a lot of dew, and the winters seem to be getting rougher, too. The pattern isn't all that different, but things are getting a bit more 'brutal' with each season, I think.

...IS THIS ENOUGH PROOF ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING...OR DO YOU WANT TO WAIT UNTIL THE FOREST FIRE GETS FOX's UPLINK?
