Effects of Androcur after a sustained period

Hi folks.

Just curious if anyone had input as to the effects of being on Androcur for an extended period and then stopping. I've been on Androcur IM now for 6 months (300mg, every 18 days) and totally enjoy the results. I have enough to carry me a full year (which I will see through) but would like to stop taking it sometime thereafter. I'm hoping to find someone here who's been on it for an extended period and then stopped to find out kind of changes (hopefully permanent) they saw.

Be well, Joe

I do not know about your way of getting androcur. Most take in a pill form. Any where between 50mg and 300mg a day. Most are around 100mg a day.

Not sure what you are doing taking androcur now and planning on stopping it a year later. The general rule is if you start your goal is to stay on. You are always run the risk that the effects will last. Longer on a drug, the effect can be more damaging.

(like a year or more) and then stopped.

Not sure "damage" is the correct term, wouldn't something like "progress" be more appropriate? 😄

Hi Joe,

I have taken Androcur on and off for over 4 years, and because of the side effects (mild but persistent anemia), I stopped taking it over 6 months ago.

The effects are pretty much permanent. This is where I'm at right now:

1. Testicles are much atrophied, and remain small exactly as the time I stopped.

2. Penis has shrunk by over an inch while soft. It is regaining size if and when it does gets hard. When soft, it remains as small as its smallest point. I actually suspect that it continues to shrink.

3. Libido has risen a little but not by much. I would think about release about once every 10 to 14 days. Once I came, I'd have no erections whatsoever for at least a week.

4. Even when with someone really cute, I'd get at best half mask, penis a bit engorged but still really soft. I can cum (as I could all through the period while on Androcur) with a little more ease if stimulated for a long time.

5. Breast continues to develop. I try to stop it with Tamoxifen as that's not my objective. But it seems to grow (with painful nipples and breasts) if I'm not on Tamoxifen. In other words, my naturally circulating estrogen probably exceeds androgen.

6. Emotional swings have stopped. Anemia has stopped. Cold flashes have stopped.

In short, after nearly 8 months since I stopped Androcur, I think I got to pretty much a permanent stage.

If you do a search on my various posts throughout the past years, you'll find a chronicle of my progress ever since I first started now nearly 5 years ago.
