So why no pictures?

I've been lurking around the 'Archive' for years, but only just recently started submitting stories and even more recently registered so as to participate in the discussion boards.
No doubt this question (see title) has been discussed endlessly in the past, but for newbies like me it would be good to get the scooty on why we don't see more pictures in this site? I doubt there would be a huge amount of interest in actual sugery events and outcomes, etc. - kind of grusome, that - but there might be some interest in even those.
But what I'm talking about are erotic pictures, drawings, photo's, and 'photoshopped' photo's. There's one of the latter in one member's ID page showing a naked guy and a naked girl holding hands, and him absent his genitals. That was no doubt photoshopped and I have hundreds of photo's like it, balls but no dick, part of a dick, no balls, no balls and no dick, etc., etc., and I'm sure other members have same. So what's with no pictures? If they've been photoshopped the've been modified, and if they've been modified any copyright is void (i.e. all 'art' is derivative), so what's the big deal?
