I'm so confused

Hello,

some might remember me here. I'm taking cyproterone for almost a year. I started by my self, I was afraid about my health since I was alone. I took 100mg for a week, then 50mg for another one week, and then 25mgr and have blood tests. My Testo went to 0.86 in less than a month although I lower my doasge quite fast. I then found a doc to help me and he advised me to raise the dosage to 50mg to farther reduce the testo. I checked my testo after about two months and it was at 2.25! Then we raised the dosage to 100mgr for another two months and my T went to 2.15.... We raised the dosage again to 200mgr and my T after about two months again it raised to 4.5! The lab had testo range 3-11.

It's so strange, my sperm has disappeared and my erections are soft but my T is now in normal range! I have not experienced any testes shrinkage or body hair changes. Although my mood it's like a roller-coaster and my sleep quality has worst.

My doc says that cyproterone must have totally blocked the conversion of T to DHT but not the actual T. He advised me to stay at this dosage. He gave me an option to lessen the cyproterone dosage a bit and add another anti-androgen like finasterdine. I do not know what to do....

What do you think. I'm thinking just to stay to 100mgr for about a month or two and have a blood test to see.

Are you sure of the potency of the cyproterone? Each of us will have different reactions to the drugs.

The potency? I'm buying the androcur from the drug store and I always check the expire date.

I decided to take only 50mgr two times daily (total 100) to see how it goes.

I would like to check this with another doctor but it's so hard to find one who has experience with those things in Greece...

About the reaction, one might have difficulties to lower his testosterone but how it's possible to have a testosterone rise with just a dosage increment??

Yes very true that everyone who takes cyproterone is affected totaly differant,i have been on it for three years now and not long after i went on it, i also found thati was not able to produce any sperm after a few weeks.

And after about one month i could not get an errection, and now i am totaly impotent, and i truly enjoy the way i am and being impotent.

I never had any sevear mood swings, but i have noticed a loss of body hair as well as pubic hair, and i have had some amount of shrinkage of the penis as well.

But again that is something that i am happy with, and have no complaints about.

When i went on cyproteone three years ago it was on 100mg a day, and i have been on that from day one, only regret is that i did not get on it a long time ago, for i realy do enjoy the way that i am just now.

I'm no expert, but I think Androcur is supposed to do two things:

1) block the androgen receptors -- so no matter how much testosterone you have, your body tissues don't react because they can't.

2) lower the luteinizing hormone (LH) which is used to make testosterone. This should lower the actual testosterone.

It is therefore quite possible that you're only getting the effect of one of these -- in other words, the testosterone is not doing anything because the receptors are blocks, but the LH is not being suppressed as expected.

So I think the "confusion" is explainable.

In fact, I just checked Wikipedia an it says:

"In addition, although cyproterone acetate reduces androgen production in the gonads, it can increase adrenal androgen production, in some cases resulting in an overall rise in testosterone levels"

So I guess it is a known effect in some people.

Thank you,

if that's the case, do you mean that I have testosterone just flowing in my blood but it's unusable to have any androgen effect? Shouldn't be discard by the body since it cannot get to any receptor?

Could it be something like this?

- 2.25 testo: cyproterone action is 20% LH (fact 2) and 80% receptor blocking (fact 1)

- 4.50 testo: 0-5% LH and 95-100% receptor blocking

❓

Finasteride may be a great addition and you may want to look at a few w eeks of Ketoconozole to stop adrenal production of T.

if your T is not being used, it can be converted to DHT and E and DHT is more androgenic than regular T. If you do the keto, research it well and take a round of cortisone with it. This is the same protocal used for cancer patients with whom a biological flare is to be avoided.

I am confused too: My left testicle is shrinking, had a vasectomy - but on T cream 2 percent and I have morn woody's again and can cum once to twice a week with a large voulme of jism. My body hair has increased, more hairy on chest and have experienced more acne on my hairy chest. I am on HRT because of Low T because balls are not working anymore. I want balls removed, Urologist won;t remove them but will give me the T cream so I keep my Masculine traits, I also have Women Hormone blockers.
