Been lurking here for a long time, thought it's about time I actually posted something. Also appologies if this is the wrong forum - please feel free to move if so

It's not exactly castration, but as a first step in trimming down there, I'm getting circumcised on Saturday. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. It's been done by a legitimate doctor, who I know through a friend. He wants to do a very radical circ, taking all the foreskin off, leaving a scar 2mm under the glans and having it so its very tight when errect. Is this a good idea? Also what is healing like? He says that because so much skin is being removed, there is no need for bandages, just 20 or so stitches. I'm having it done for a few reasons - mainly that I'd prefer the look of a cut cock and also in the hope that having "something" done down there will alleviate my need to be castrated, as I'll feel I've taken control of my genitals.

The usual pre-op jitters are of course making me have 2nd thoughts, but I think on the whole, it'll be good to have the old turkey neck taken off. Thoughts welcome, please be nice

My thoughts.

Getting rid of as much foreskin as possible will eliminate the most erogenous and sensitive part of the penis skin. If that's what you want. Once gone there is no going back. Sexual sensitivity will be greatly reduced and it may be harder to achieve sexual gratification and ejaculation. That might lead to sexual frustration. These are only questions as I have no personal experience in this regard.

I would certainly be concerned over having too much removed. Normal and noctural erections could be painful if too much skin is removed.

As far as this having anything parallel to castration, doesn't seem like it to me.

Maybe something to do with desire to have penis removed, but not castration.

Sounds good and quite sensible, although it could perhaps have the opposite effect: whet your appetite to do more. In any case, it might be an important step in terms of learning what you really want, what your desire is really about.

I'd more or less trust the doctor on the bandage issue, seeing as his opinion would seem to be a qualified one -- I've heard that low (i.e., scar-near-glans) circumcisions are less problematic in terms of swelling, healing, etc., so maybe that's why he's of that opinion.

One thing to consider is that having so much inner skin removed (and the accompanying tightness) will certainly have an effect on the masturbation methods you'll require, and quite possibly give you the feeling that your penis is far less sensitive (the question of whether you regard that as a plus or a minus is another issue, of course) -- that's probably something quite individual, though, as nobody is wired quite the same or uses their wiring in quite the same way...

All in all, though, it would seem to be a fairly innocuous initial (and/or perhaps final) step.

I would be concerned about painful erection with extreme skin removal. There needs to be room to move things. Suspect your doc is getting his jollies by going too far.

Still, it's perfectly possible to remove (almost) all the inner foreskin and still have the circumcision not be tight (lots of Central Europeans who get cut end up with that), and on the other hand, a circumcision that's tight when erect is in-and-of-itself something quite normal/common/desired/liveable, and if it turns out a bit too tight, well ... the outer skin does have a fairly good ability to stretch (some people go back years later to have more skin removed for precisely this reason ... hmm, I would be prone to say "just age gracefully", but whatever...). I imagine the question of whether the doc is getting his jollies is best answered by his facial expressions, body language, the sinister or not-so-sinister tone of his voice *lol* :-p ...

[Disclosure: I'm considering getting re-circumcised myself (I had nothing to say about the outcome of my infant circumcision), and the "style" I favor has for a long time now been very low and very tight -- which would be possible with the skin I have remaining. So anyway, I'm biased... :-p]

I had something similar back end of last year. Low and tight cut. It is much more difficult to get off now, but the wait is well worth it. It has loosed off some since I was first cut, so I am wanting to get recut. Has done nothing to lessen my desire for other mods either. In fact, as someone else has already said, has probably increased it!

I for one enjoy my foreskin and can't imagine not having it (OK, who am I kidding on this forum, I can well imagine but have no true desire to go without).

I would suggest, if you haven't already, consult the doctor and/or other professional/s, on the merits an extremely tight cut. Myself, if I were to do it, would opt for more modest cut with the consideration of a recut down the road rather than having too much cut off at once only to regret it.

Along that note, how do they determine how much to remove? Do they give you an injection or pill to induce a strong and full erection and mark the skin at this extreme length, or do they kept it flaccid pull on what ever slack they can?

For the healing process, do they have some way to suppress erections so as to not rip the stitches? If so, how? I've read somewhere (here perhaps) that some anti-depressants and anti-psychotics can reduce or prohibit erections.

I was circumcised as an infant, so I can't comment on any difference in sensation. I do know that researchers at one of our major medical schools did a very scientific test of sensation differences between circumcised and uncircumcised males a few years ago. This involved applying sensation sensors to the penis and then having the subject do his thing. They found no difference in sensation.

As with most things that may be construed as pro-circumcision, the anti-circumcision zealots protested and succeeded in suppressing the reporting of this study.

Speed

While circumcision is a personal decision, its not one I would make for myself. I do however prefer if it has been done that the shaft skin be brought up to the corona of the glans , rather than leaving the innerforeskin intact and cutting away the outer part.

Recently there was a series of photos of a new circumcision done in that way posted on the Male Body Mods site. It came out quite well.

Healing, as with all things is specific to the individual, but you should expect to be "out of commission" for 4-6 weeks, before you will feel good enough to make use of your new "toy".
