Who ever said that having a Bilateral Orchiectomy was no big deal well I'll just leave it at that. The surgery went well it was done under a local anesthetic I was given Verset. So I don't remember a thing afterwards it felt as if I'd been kicked in the groin by an elephant thank God for Hydrocodone. I was told that the surgery would take an hour or more it was done in 45 minutes, I was on my way home shortly afterwards.

When I had the initial consult with the Doctor I came as prepared as one could be I had a full blood work done prior to my visit and I had two letters one from a phycologist and the other from a phychiatrist. Turns out I only needed one letter the only thing that I didn't have with me is an EKG but I was able to get that before the surgery I needed the EKG because I have a heart condition and saved myself $150.00 the total cost was $2750.00 $2000.00 for the surgery $100.00 consultation fee, $650.00 for the surgery center. I'm not sure if I can name the Doctor who did the procedure so I won't for the moment until I'm told otherwise

The one question I do have in all of this is do I need to provide proof that I'm a Eunuch if so I obviously have no issues with that the only thing is I'm not sure how to do it.

I am surprised about the amount of pain you had afterwards. I had some discomfort from not being properly numbed but almost no pain post-op.

I'm no longer in the amount of pain that I was in and it feels better everyday it's only been two days I felt good enough to get out of the house today. I'm still pretty swollen and I'm looking forward to the swelling going down. Overall I'm happy with the way things went and I feel as if a weight has been lifted from my shoulders I'm not sure if this is the Eunuch calm seems a little early for that.

Question regarding testosterone how long does the residual testosterone stay in the body? is it a slow proccess or does it happen pretty fast?

First congratulations, I am glad everything went OK, as far as how fast the T leaves I would not know, I took Androcur for a year before being castrated, as for proof, if you say you are, then you are, I need no other proof.

Glad the pain is better and all went well. I am thinking it was about 5-6 weeks before I had that first hot flash. I was castrated 12/06 and while driving to work on a very cold winter day when I began to warm up. Wow I turned off the heat, rolled down the windows and turned up the fan. The severe hot flashes did not last long. Hope yours are mild.

We have a MoM in August and you might enjoy meeting many of us.

Hot Flashes,

I was at work, it was at the end of the day and my co-workers and I were all chatting before going home, that's when it hit, I grabbed a file folder and started fanning myself, I guess I was beet red as well, my co-workers mostly women were asking if I was OK as I was fanning to beat hell. I said, "I must be having a hot flash, maybe I am going through the change in life". everybody thought that was funny as hell and totally discounted what I said.

Sometimes the truth is so wrong nobody believes it.

BTW, I had my last very mild hot flash about a month ago, I was castrated 9/6/02.

I've been on spiro for over two years however the last time my testosterone level was checked I was at 524. Odd since I had been taking 400mg a day I dont think I have to worry about that anymore. Nor am I overly concerned about Hot Flashes. I am TG M to F and have also been taking estrodiol as well the only reason I asked about the time frame for the disapation of testosterone is the feminization proccess I'm hoping will now accelerate Breast development and so on. But for now I consider myself a Eunuch and damn proud of it too!

I've been out and about all day and I have been feeling very little discomfort I'm sore but it doesn't hurt enough to need to take any narcotics just sore so I can say the healing proccess seems to be pretty fast.

I had bilateral operatins also. I add the (S) because my doc only removed one side at a time. And that was done three months apart. I started having discomfort (hot flashed) in about 3 weeks. I say discomfort because when I started having them I was not sure since the weather was in the 90's at the time and being in and out I was skeptical. When I began to notice the flasheds during church, I knew what was going on. Forthunately my 30 day checkup was only about 3 days away. I had no problem coping with it. When I told my Dr., he prescribed Testim. That fixed the problem. I was on 5 grm tube daily and by the end of the first six weeks on it, I was like a raging teenager, When I went bak in Jan. he changed me to evryother day and that calmed down my libido. Actuially, now I am on 2.5 daily. I can go 3weeks befor the hot flashes start now.
